The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced that forward Cam Atkinson has been re-assigned to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. In addition, the Lightning have recalled goaltender Brandon Halverson from the Crunch.

Atkinson, 35, has played in 38 games this season with the Lightning, where he has four goals, nine points, and a minus-4 rating. His last appearance for the Bolts was on March 13 against the Philadelphia Flyers, where he scored a goal in 7:06 of ice time.

Atkinson signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with the Lightning this past off-season after being bought out by the Flyers. In 808 career NHL games split between the Columbus Blue Jackets, Flyers, and Lightning, he has 253 goals, 236 assists, and 489 points.

Halverson, 28, has appeared in 34 games this season with the Crunch, where he has a 16-9-8 record, a .913 save percentage, and a 2.32 goals-against average. With this call-up, the 28-year-old will provide the Lightning with another option between the pipes during their ongoing road trip.

Halverson has not appeared in an NHL game since the 2017-18 season with the New York Rangers. During his loan NHL appearance, he stopped five out of six shots he faced.
