I was saying it would be Lindley all day yesterday because he made the most sense. Lindley knows the system and is familiar with the receivers. I wouldn't be shocked that if in a week or two he becomes Stantons backup.
Personally I feel Lindley had a better training camp than Thomas. But that is to be expected because he had been in the system for an entire year and Thomas was so raw coming out of college. The main reason Thomas made the team over Lindley is his potential a few years down the road.
While I can't judge who had a better Training Camp between Lindley and Thomas, I can remind you how awful Lindley continued to be in NFL games including pre-season games since he was drafted because he threw a "beautiful ball" per Whisenhunt.
Even though Lindley has been exposed to BA's offense for several years, Lindley graphically proved once again in his last NFL action (pre-season game) that he cannot execute at the NFL level.
Seems like a nice guy and family man, but other than being an emergency stop-gap option, his life in football next year likely will be in coaching kids unless he has a hundreds-fold improvement in recognizing and reading defenses, improving his decision making on when and who to pass to, and greatly improving on his NFL and college career completion average of just under 50%.
Wonder if BA and Tom Moore would consider a complete NFL QB makeover project with Tim Tebow to be worth their time and effortt? If anyone could transform and develop Tebow into a legit NFL QB, it would be them.
