Jacob Ognacevic, the Atlantic Sun player of the year who led Lipscomb basketball to the 2025 NCAA Tournament, entered the transfer portal Thursday.
The 6-foot-8 forward from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, transferred to Lipscomb from Valparaiso in 2022 and started 35 games for the Bisons before suffering an injury that sidelined for the entire 2023-24 season.
Ognacevic returned this season and led Lipscomb to a 25-10 record, the ASUN regular season and tournament championships, and the NCAA tournament where the Bisons lost to Iowa State 82-55 in the first round. It was the Bisons' second time to play in the NCAA tournament.
Ognacevic is ranked 18th nationally in scoring (20.0 ppg.) and led the Bisons in rebounds (8.0).
"Jacob has done so much for our program and our university over the past four years," Lipscomb coach Lennie Acuff said. "He has graduated with honors while representing Lipscomb in a first class manner on and off the court. He will be be a tremendous addition to whatever program he chooses to finish his career. Jacob Ognacevic will also be a Lipscomb Bison."
For his Lipscomb career Ognacevic started a total of 70 games and had 1,641 points and 554 rebounds.
He is Lipscomb's third all-time leading scorer in the programs NCAA Division I era ranked behind Garrison Mathews (2015-19) with 2,478 points and Adnan Hodzic (2007-11) with 2,002 points.
Including his time at Valparaiso, Ognacevic has 1,827 career points.
While at Valparaiso Ognacevic was one of just four players to see action in all 28 games as a freshman. He averaged 6.3 points and 2.0 rebounds.
