After watching Bartell throw a TD pass to Fitz last game, it got me to think about the number of QBs we've had throw him a TD since he came in the league in 2004. Here is that list:

  • Josh McCown
  • Shaun King
  • John Navarre
  • Kurt Warner
  • Matt Leinart
  • Brian St. Piere
  • Derek Anderson
  • Max Hall
  • John Skelton
  • Kevin Kolb
  • Rich Bartell
11 QBs in an eight year career. All but two have started at least one game for the Cards. Shows me how awesome of a receiver Fitz is and how bad we need some continuity at QB.

1/7 QB's who were successful under Whis, not bad, the "system" really works wonders....

First thing I thought of when Bartell threw that pass: He's now gets a mention in Larry's HOF statistics.

I remember Emmitt throwing a touchdown pass, but I cant remember who caught it. Was that a Larry TD?

out of those 7, only 1 has been succesful anywhere else too. To me, it's the QB's that haven't been any good.

the question is, who has Fitzgerald not caught a TD pass from? I was throwing football with my little nephew and I over threw a pass big time and then all of sudden Larry showed up and one handed right within the area of the side tree, and that tree was in in front of the swing set and the air conditioning unit...that makes it a legal TD to Larry :D

Well, I hate to :deadhorse: but DA did have a pro bowl season with the Browns, so he wasn't necessarily 'unsuccessful'. This is why I'm very interested to see how Leinart does in Houston, because if he plays well, it will only prove that Whis is a moron and doesn't know how to coach QB's.

Sad isn't it that the Cards front office and coaches keep bringing in guys like that. Year after year after year.

Exactly!
Which is why I'm not ready to get rid of Kolb. If you think about it, he's still a rookie - figuratively not literally - based on how many starts he's had.

Many fans were spoiled rotten by two successful years with Warner, but look what Warner had done between the Rams and resurgence with the Cards. Not much.

I still think Kolb we be a successful QB in this league, but until the Cards get an Oline that can protect no QB could be successful here.

We'll also get to see how Leinhart does on a good team for an extended period..

Bridges,X,Sendlein,Lutui,LBrown. That's the line less Reggie Wells that protected Warner against Green Bay in the 2009 playoff game. A game where Warner threw for 379 yards and 5 touchdowns and was sacked once in 33 attempts. A game where BWells ran for 6.5 ypc. (14-91) A game against the #2 ranked defense in the NFL.

Those guys are still on the roster but only ONE is playing the same position.

Anderson, even before his dismal season last year, was arguably the worst regular starting quarterback of the last 30 years. His stats are by far the worst of any current player who has started more than 1 full season. Even Anderson's college stats are bad.

His pro-bowl season came as like the 3rd or 4th alternate and he still was 2nd in the league in INTs with 19 and had a pathetic completion rate. His 2 years before coming to Arizona he completed less than fifty percent of his passes.

I'd call him unsuccessful, and even with his fluke pro-bowl trip.

I agree with the sentiments of others. Whiz's ability to evaluate QBs is the bigger problem. The only one with an ability was one he stumbled into. All of the QBs he has brought in have been trash no matter where they've played.

I hardly consider it being spoiled rotten when I finally get to see a couple years of decent football after decades of horrific play. Then to go back to that again while the coaching staff and front office put on a snow job with the same tired prattle we've heard forever. Why shouldn't the fans expect more?

Didn't Whis ressurect Warner's career?

Doesn't surprise me. Since the Cards moved to Arizona, these are QB's who started at least 1 game(please excuse the spelling on some):

Neil Lomax
Gary Hogaboom
Tom Tupa
Tim Rosenbach
Stan Gelbaugh
Chris Chandler
Steve Beuerlein
Jim McMahon
Jay Schreoder
Dave Kreig
Boomer Esiason
Kent Graham
Stoney Case
Jake Plummer
Dave Brown
Josh McCown
Jeff Blake
Shawn King
John Navarre
Kurt Warner
Matt Leinart
Tim Rattay
Dereck Anderson
Max Hall
John Skelton
Kevin Kolb

24 years, 26 different starting QB's. No team, and I do mean no team has had this kind of QB carousel.
