Anybody else get hooked on that and watch it religiously? I gotta admit I got really pulled in it's so fun to watch kids at that age who are still having fun.
The first time I saw Hawaii play I picked them to win the whole thing and what a great comeback in the final yesterday. EVen my girlfriend got into it, mainly because several of the players from Hawaii appeared to be of Filipino descent.
Much more impressed than I was with the little league softball tournament. In that game the US team actually went to court to try and get an injunction when one of their players was suspended for a uniform violation! The amazing thing is the coach claimed they were being picked on intentionally losing one of his better players before the final against a team from the Philippines.THat team had lost one game in the whole tournament, when its TWO best players were suspended for a uniform violation.
It was quite refreshing to see little of this. Dante Bichette junior was in the tournament but didn't make the finals. I was glad to see Hawaii over the team from California largely because the California team was the prototypical team with one dominant player because the kid has an early growth spurt. While I don't blame the player it's not his fault he looks 18, it is nice to see a TEAM win and Hawaii was clearly that.
Curacao sure had some great talents of their own.
Loved the Hawaiian coach too he was so laid back with his kids and I think it came through in how they played, they didn't seem to ever get nervous. and their fans were great too one father had to quit his job to follow his son to the LLWS. Really refreshing after weeks of TO this and Lance Armstrong that it was refreshing to see a bunch of kids playing for fun.
Now who's going to be the first to tell me Hawaii was using ineligible players and ruin my whole day.
