Weaknesses:

• Good, not great athlete
• Average explosiveness
• Needs to get stronger
• Extremely unpolished offensively
• Poor footwork/Post moves
• Ability to face the basket
• Shooting range
• Free throw shooting
• Focus/Decision making ability
• Intensity wavers at times
• Struggles defending perimeter
• Gets backed down in paint
• Defensive rebounding
• Project

LOL he struggles in the perimeter and gets backed down in the paint? Pretty bad weaknesses. At least Alando Tucker will have company in the D League.

Who else would contribute right away out of all the guys remaining?

Well youve already rigged the question. Why wasn't Kerr competent enough to move up?

Of the guys still on the board, I would've preferred Darrell Arhtur or Donte Greene.

EDIT: Or heck, maybe Batum. Though I haven't seen him play, his profiles sound good (and his position at least fills a more immediate need).

Again, it takes more than Kerr wanting to move up to actually move up.

trading for a high rd 2 pick and picking up Greene or Aurthur would redeem this draft for me

This happens every single year. Some people come on here and assume that since we didn't move up it's all our fault. It takes two to make a thing go right.

I don't know why everyone likes Batum--his health issues were a red flag. And it was known that he may still be in Europe next year anyway, and there was no way the Suns were prepared to NOT have that draft pick on the bench in 2008.

I don't think you can really even confidently say he's going to be a bust offensively. Because his brother was so good for Stanford, I doubt they really did anything to develop Robin's offensive game, because, well, they didn't HAVE to. Doesn't mean he will be a good offensive player, but I think it means we should reserve judgment, that's all.

Totally agree. Robin Lopez would have not been my selection but fans should reserve judgment. The Suns really had a keen interest in Noah last season and he also was not a good offensive player. Maybe the Suns see something similar in Lopez. Someone who can run the floor, play some defense and block some shots. Also he is still very young and has time to work on his offensive game. One thing I do like about Lopez is that he seems very eager to please and he will undoubtedly be a hard worker.

Thats it, he is only 19...

again, just the energy he brings defensively... I like already... and as much as I liked Green, he was a very high risk very high reward player... Lopez is a low risk, fills a needed position.

Again, it takes competency, something Steve Kerr lacks. Why would you give the benefit of the doubt to a guy with no experience who traded Kurt Thomas and 2 picks for nothing?

Hoover, the majority of the possible picks aren't guys who can be expected to make immediate contributions. That said, I prefered Green or Speights (who I think has more of an upside, is a better rebounder and a better scorer than Lopez).

Hornets drafted a good player in D. Author just now. He is going to get traded to the Portland. I think many teams will regret not drafting this guy because of an alleged kidney problem.

Portland is going to be sick for about a decade.

It really looks like Rockets screwed San Antonios plans by picking up Batum.
Rumors had that there were only Spurs and Cavs with health report on Batum and that Spurs really wanted him. Batum supposedly wanted to go to San Antonio as well.
I guess Spurs didn 't had the back up plan ??? ;)

Gambo was saying the guy they want with Minnesota's pick is likely someone who would go before #48 but definately not in the first round although they would have taken him there.

Hoping it is Bill Walker.

Bill Walker, Donte Green or Mario Chalmers would be very nice picks. I really like Chalmers especially.

If we could land a early 2nd round pick, I want Bill Walker.

Assuming Boston grabs CDR, if we get that Minne pick, we could land either Chalmers or Walker.

How about DeAndre Jordan?

I don't mind him at all in the 2nd round.
