Mar. 22—Box Score
At Columbia (White Salmon)
BRUINS 10, LOGGERS 1
Onalaska 0 1 — 1
Columbia 7 3 — 10
The Onalaska boys soccer team made the trip to White Salmon on Friday to face Columbia, and the Loggers were defeated 10-1.
Onalaska struggled to slow down Columbia in the first half, as the Bruins scored seven goals, but a formation change from a 4-3-3 to a 3-5-2, and the switch paid dividends on both sides of the ball.
The Bruins were still able to tack on three more, but Noland Brady was able to beat the keeper in a one-on-one for his second goal of the season.
Christofer James was busy in net, and he finished the match with an impressive 23 saves.
"I knew today would be a tough match," Onalaska coach Luis Magana said. "But there were many positives. We played really hard in the second half. I was told we are a small town team with a big heart. Obviously, it's not the results we want, but our team is improving every match, and we show moments of competing well with the top teams."
"It's the inexperience that ends up haunting us," Magana continued. "But we just gotta keep working at it. There is no better way to gain that experience than to play these games."
The Loggers (0-3, 0-3 1A Trico) will be back at home on Monday to host Stevenson.
