And Amare pulled his headband down on him. Well-deserved. Feel sorry for JWill? Nah.

The Suns own that guy going back to his days with Sac. he could never handle Kidd, then Marbury, now Nash. Maybe he should spend some time learning how to play D instead of perfecting his behind the back passes and pull up 25 footers. All flash, no substance to that guy's game.

So Jayson Williams pulled a Ryan Leaf on a writer. Too bad it wasn't on tape.

It was-watch Sportcenter tonight. I didn't think it was recorded either. We really bring out the baby in our opponents.

I hadn't read about his antics with the reporter before I posted about Amare's punking of JWill. Now it seems even more just.

Thanks Skratchy, but I meant JWill deserved his takedown by Amare--that reporter didn't do anything to warrant a tantrum like that.

No worries. That was just a blanket statement...nothing aimed at what Amare did. :)

I read somewhere(maybe here?) that Amare and JWill are friends, and Amare was just messing with him when he pulled his headband down.

I have to disagree with some of you, from everything I read, the reporter did deserve every bit of Jwill's tantrum.

i think you guys are letting you dislike of jwill color your judgement of this situation.

what that writer wrote was a bunch of crap. jwill overreacted, yes, but i don't really blame him. he didn't yell, he just took the guys pen and punked him a little. if a writer prints crap like he did, that's what's coming to them.

j-dub acted unprofessionally, but that reporter is a no talent ass clown for sure. Of course family is more important than basketball

Actually, I never said I disagreed with JWill. Most people here (including myself) have said worse about this very same writer quite recently. I have no opinion on the matter. Williams is always immature, and the sportswriter isn't qualified to write the stories he does. Not much to draw a conclusion from, IMO.

Except that we really draw the baby out of our opponents.:)

Why is the writer an "ass clown"? Did he misquote him? Did he write something denigrating JWill's attitude? Or did he just quote him accurately?

From what I've read he completely butchered a quote by jwill to make it sound like he didn't care about the grizzlies or their playoff games because his family was more important. Also, the writer is the same one that came up with the article about how Memphis is so superior to Phoenix. Seen here:

Yep, ass clown pretty much sums it up.

I must add the "no talent" in front of ass clown. Therefore he is a "no talent ass clown" - quote from Officespace

I don't mean to be a pain in the ass, but can anyone just cite the evidence? What did this reporter do to deserve his abuse?

How do you feel on this Sunday, as the Grizzlies are poised to be swept from the playoffs for the second straight year?

Are you glum?

Angry?

Depressed?

Frustrated?

Jason Williams is none of those things.

"I'm happy," he told a CA reporter at practice Saturday. "I go home and see my kids and my wife and I'm OK. All this (bleep) is secondary to me."

So.

There you go, Grizzlies fans, all of you who have fretted and stewed and invested your hearts in this team.

Jason's happy.

Basketball is secondary. Don't you feel silly now?

JWill's response sounds alot worse on the radion than it looks on tape.

I am not one to cut pampered athletes much slack, and I don't have alot of respect for JWill--but--his response to this idiot of a reporter was quite restrained IMO.

The league should not fine him, in fact, I'm all for a bonus. If you write like an idiot, the players ought to be able to treat you like an idiot. If a reporter can call a player out, I don't see why a player shouldn't be able to retaliate in a non-violent way.
