You mean based on the extremely limited sample size?

Agree with the first part of your sentence, but I'd like to know how you come to that conclusion based on the small amount of time he played last season and the coaching change.

I am going off of his career numbers over the course of 5 seasons (plus last night's game) and 206 games (including 62 starts).

What numbers make you confident that he always played hero ball? Even before he signed with us?

If Canaan can stop forcing things from time to time then he'll be okay. He just needs to find his role, and that's moving the ball, not attacking and being the primary offensive weapon. He should know he's the last option except if he has the ball and the shot clock is almost at zero.

We have been saying this. Igors offense does not need a ball dominant pg. The ball moves around. Lots of players getting assists. We saw that last night. That does not mean we could not use a better pg. It just means that we can cover more easily for a mediocre one in this offense.

That is true and it worked well last night but on nights when the shots aren't falling and the Suns are struggling it will be a bit different. The ball seems to stick more when things aren't going right. I would love to see the Suns play 81 more games like last night but that's not going to happen. The real test will be when we're struggling to hit shots though. Hopefully that's a little ways out and they handle it well when it comes.

Thought Okobo looked good in the few mins he got as well even though not much was noted in the box score.

All Canaan has to do is bring the ball up, initiate the offense, play decent d, and hit the occasional 3 when he is open--just enough to keep defenses honest.

Bringing in ball-dominant pg might hurt this offense a bit.
