I'm starting to think this injury story is all just a big cover-up. That really they all went on a hardcore bender in like mexico or vegas or something and misplaced him and they have to keep making stuff up as Kerr and company desperately retrace their steps, a la "the hangover".

Nice theory, anyone want to check out Tyson's house just in case.

Anyone remember he was supposed to be back fully for the playoffs? What happened? Oh forgot, the pinched nerve thing.. I'm not doctor but this is the first time i've heard of a pinced nerve.. Is it really that serious? We need him back for the next series for sure.. We're fine without him in this one.

Seems like its excuse after excuse.

Maybe I missed it but I don't remember any report that suggested he would be back to start the playoffs. Every one I read was your basic wait and see prognosis. And a pinched nerve (impingement) is a fairly commonplace ortho issue (and maybe neuro issue but I'm not sure on that).

I swear, the initial injury right when it was announced the team talked about him being back as early as the last game of the season and for sure playoffs.. Then I guess they found out it was more serious than they thought so it kept getting delayed then the pinched nerve thing happened

The most positive thing to take away from that report is that the issue is conditioning primarily and the leg numbness is secondary at this point.

Lets wrap this up tonight and get Robin back in shape with a week to prepare.

I don't think Lopez will ever play this season. Their just saying that he "might" so that the opponents don't get too comfy and have to game plan against him.

Maybe, my worry is he won't be that effective after not playing for so long (a'la Jameer Nelson last year for the Magic).

The good thing about that, he cant be any worse than Collins :)

LOL. Then it was a good cardboard cutout of Robin sitting behind the bench at games.

I don't think his stepping back into the starting lineup is much different than when he first did it from obscurity on the bench.

As I've said before, a role-playing Center, allowing Amare to spend most of his time as a true Power Forward doesn't take the same precision as a Wing or Point Guard.

With a week off before the Lakers series, this couldn't have worked out better for us.

It's pretty funny how the Suns started every game this series basically playing 4 against 5 and still swept them.

guys, its going to be the fact that he's still better than collins.. IF, IF, IF he comes back weak and soft like jameer nelson last year: He takes collins spot, suns/gentry start to draw him up plays and rely on him, he will suck and not perform well but we will continue to try and force him to becomes a key player when he's still not back in his zone-- suns waste their time and lose.. Where as if its still collins in, all those possessions we would have WASTED on RoLo we could have drawn up somthing better for a different player(s).

Now if RoLo comes back strong like he was in the 2nd half of the season, then look out.

Or he comes back, we don't call plays for him cuz Gentry realizes he's not at 100%, and he's still an upgrade over Collins.

In a van...down by the river.

True & they struggled a bit in the 1st qtr's. I don't think its any mystery why they've started slowly(only to get it going later) in many playoff games either.....J.Collins is no Robin Lopez, and Gentry has brilliantly started a scrub in his place so that chemistry isn't a major factor when Lopez returns. The bench rotation remains the same for the most part....except for the amount of minutes given.

Lopez will take Collins minutes completely(obviously) and some away from Frye. Lou's minutes will be effected by the amount of foul trouble between Amare & Lopez, but will likely diminish a tad i would think.
