Lord of the Rings Questions

I finally just watched all 3 of these movies carefully. Pretty good, but I'm not used to Middle Earth stuff, so I have a few questions.

Why would Liv Tyler show up about every 45 minutes and start kissing Aragon?? Not that I'd complain......just kind of reminded me of high school.

Why did Gollum constantly talk to himself?? Was he Bi-Polar??

Tyler was Aragon's "teacher" when he was 13 and Gollum got humped by a dog for 45 horrible seconds after he lost the ring.

Liv Tyler's character was a lot different in the movie than the books...they had to add in a love story, hence the scene's of them scattered throughout...

And Gollumn had two personalities...one was the normal Smeagol that he used to be, and the other was Gollum, which is the sound he makes with his throat...

Well, to be fair, they were in love. It was simply a storyline that didn't get much attention in the books.
