Today's quotes from Manager Bob Melvin included,

We've lost ten out of our last eleven games. Mostly at home.

"Little" . . . "kind of" . . . "little bit". It's been typical of every newspaper quote and TV interview for quite a while.

Rise to the occasion, Bob. We're not hitting well. We're not pitching well. We're not fielding well.

Let's stop pretending that we have a "little" problem. It's going to take dynamic thinking to move past it.

Let's just hope that it's Coachspeak to the public . . . but a different presentation to his players.

Someone has to raise the intensity level.

I never understood why, when an offense has died, the Manager doesn't help with an increase in bunt and hit-and-run signs.

We have players on this team with spunk, at 2B and CF. I wonder if Melvin is using their personalities to the team's advantage.

I love what Gonzo has meant to the D'backs. I still hope that he finishes his career here, but that's probably out of the question after Kendrick's recent gaffe.

But Gonzo is not performing as a 3 or 4 hitter. Move him down to 7th in the batting order behind our RBI catcher.
