Huh? For all intents and purposes, Sun DOES think Jin's dead. Doesn't mean he is. I know there's been some confirmation about Michael being dead, but I haven't seen anything about Jin.

I agree. First, the main characters they have killed off have violated the island's sense of justice, and Jin -- despite his past -- is an island innocent. Second, they never showed us Jin's final moment. We got Michael's with his encounter with Christian. Jin unceremoniously disappeared in the explosion, which is very un-Lost like.

When the blast took place, my thoughts were that Jin was running to the very back of the ship while the first explosion was in the front. It's very possible that he was thrown into the ocean by the first blast and survived. My money is that he got picked up by the raft that was on the way to the ship when it went down. He may have been injured, but I think he's alive.

I wonder what happens to the folks on the raft now that the island has moved?

Sun obviously blames her father and Ben for Jin's death. Perhaps she's going to tell Widmore about Penny and Desmond. Maybe she'll be nice to the other survivors to help Widmore get to Ben. I think we'll see the survivors splitting allegiances between Widmore and Ben.

Sun has no idea how the ship blew up. The only person who knows Bens involvement in it is Locke.

You're probably right here.

I don't think so, all anyone knows is that it was Widmore's ship and it was rigged to blow. They don't know how, why would they side with Widmore when he sent a team to kill all of them? That they do know.

We can only make that assumption. It depends on how you interpret the timeline in the flash fowards.

Am I wrong, or didn't the bottle with the notes come up on shore? I mean, the bottle went with Jin, Michael and Sawyer when they went on the raft and, after the exploded, the bottle washed up on shore, right? So, I don't think that will happen.

The bottle did return but we never saw what happened to it after that. I was thinking of it as a devious plot device that could blow up the story of the "Oceanic 6." That thing shows up and everyone has an incentive to find the island again.

True. I still can't see how she could put more blame on Ben than Widmore.

I hate that the show doesn't return until next January.

True. However Locke may have told her about what happened when he tried to recruit everyone to go back to the island (which they've hinted at)

That is true. I don't recall him ever talking to Jack though. It seemed jack was a little shocked that Locke had talked to a few of them. We don't know if he ever talked to Sun either, right? I do love where her character seems to be going.

I think Sun's common interest with Widmore is to find the Island again to see if Jin is still alive...

For all intents and purposes, Sun DOES think Jin's dead. Doesn't mean he is. I know there's been some confirmation about Michael being dead, but I haven't seen anything about Jin.

And which show are you talking about? According to IMDB, the only thing he's on is The Andromeda Strain, which is a miniseries.

Yeah, that's the one. Didn't realize it was a miniseries.

When the blast took place, my thoughts were that Jin was running to the very back of the ship while the first explosion was in the front. It's very possible that he was thrown into the ocean by the first blast and survived. My money is that he got picked up by the raft that was on the way to the ship when it went down. Anything is possible with this show. I can see where people wouldn't think he's dead.

Sun has no idea how the ship blew up. The only person who knows Bens involvement in it is Locke.

She didn't know when it happened, but that doesn't mean she didn't learn about it after she got off the island. Remember that she said two people were responsible for her husband's death. I gotta think she found out about the Ben thing.

I think Sun's common interest with Widmore is to find the Island again to see if Jin is still alive...

I suppose that's possible, but I really believe that Sun thinks Jin is dead.

I am fairly certain Jack said Sun "still blames me for Jin" in that final episode... I will have to go back and re watch...

But Locke got off the island so maybe he told Sun?

She was having hallucinations when she was giving birth. She cried at the gravesite. I think she was sad enough. Now she just looks pissed.

Ooh. Let us know what you find.

Jack did in fact say that he hasnt seen Sun in a while becuase "she still blames me."

Also I am really new to the discussion since I only jusy now watch every single episode of this past season of Lost over the weekend after I waited and tivoed them all. Just something I found interesting and it may have already been mentioned. Mittelos, the lab that was studying Locke as a child and has been apart of other story lines, it is an anagram for "Lost Time".

Interesting. I don't think anyone has mentioned that before.

Nice to have you on board, Joe. :)

I know not everyone's interested in the storytelling technique of Lost like I am, but I found this TED lecture from JJ Abrams revealing. I think Abrams and I have sort of a kinship in the way we think, which is creating mysteries is much more fun than resolving them ...

the single biggest reason to believe Jin is pretty simple to me and should be to anyone who's a storyteller on any level. No writer/director in his right mind would kill a character as interesting and integral to the show offscreen without any kind of fanfare. Now, take into consideration that the guys writing lost have been writing one of the greatest shows of all time and there's no way in hell they short-changed Jin like that. Think about how poignant almost every character's death has been on the show. We see them up close and personal. We see their final moment. Nothing for Jin. That and that alone tells me he's alive.

The only thing that would make me think that you are not 100% correct in this thinking is that the actor got a DUI, and as we all know, very bad things happen to the characters played by actors caught drinking & driving.

Perhaps some of either the writer's or the producers were tragically effected by a drunk driver, and this comes through in the scripts.

True, but the 3 DUI deaths in this show have been on-screen and in 2 cases, rather poignant (Mr. Eko and Libby).
