Louisiana softball vs ULM: Cajuns look to take the series in game two

Louisana softball’s Sun Belt Conference home-opener against foe the University of Louisian-Monroe ended in dramatic fashion on Friday. A three-run comeback, extra innings and a walk-off two-run home run capped off the Ragin’ Cajuns’ 5-3 win over the Warhawks.

Now the Cajuns (15-13, 2-2 SBC) are gearing up to do it all over again as they look to win the series on Saturday. Offensively, they are hoping to get the bats swinging earlier in the game and to manufacture runs when they get runners on base.

Defensively, head coach Alyson Habetz wants the same from her team after playing eight error-free innings in game one. Pitching-wise, the Cajuns gave up no freebies as well walking no batters.

For the Warhawks (22-12, 3-1) they got their first taste of defeat in SBC play and are looking to not taste it again to tie the series up. Both squads will be giving it their all as bragging rights are on the line between two cross-state rivals.
