There’s no love lost between cross-state foes Louisiana and No. 8-ranked LSU baseball, and on Tuesday, the two squads will clash in one game.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (11-14, 3-3 SBC) are fresh off a momentous series win over South Alabama, where they showcased the potential of how good this year’s team is. The Cajuns played the most complete games of the season against the Jaguars, from quality starts on the mound to clutch at-bats.

They’ll need that to carry over into Baton Rouge. The Tigers (22-3, 4-2 SEC) will be eager to defend their diamond after a forgettable road trip last week in Austin. They lost 2-1 in their opening Southeastern Conference series against No. 7 Texas, being outscored 19-17 throughout the three-game series.

Back at home with a familiar foe on the docket, LSU is looking to bounce back and show its dominance while the Cajuns are hunting for an upset. Left-handed pitcher Andrew Herrmann will look to lead the Cajuns on the mound in their biggest challenge yet of the season.
