I have gone to the Rattlers, DBacks, and Suns games in phoenix for quite awhile. Totally different fans. The Suns fans are by far the most yuppie of any crowd I have been to a sporting event to see. Even the Phoenix golf event, I don't know what they call it now, is more blue collar than the Suns crowd. The DBacks have more of a working/family crowd. The Rattler fans back in the day were rabid fun! Now they are getting more gentrified, but are still way more fun than the Suns crowd. You have to be older with money to afford the lower bowl season tickets.

It sucks to get old, but those folk can't get up and down all game long. They want to SEE the game. Young guys like us jumping up and down all game make watching it a real pain. You have show a little empathy. Hopefully, someday you'll be old. Without those old people buying tickets, there would be no Suns!

I really don't agree with this. I don't think your fandom has anything to do with age. At the Cardinals games, we have some absolutely rabid fans, and a very decent majority of those guys are in there 50s and 60s. I sat next to a couple of groups that were literally generations of Cards fans. Grampa, Son, Grandson. Myself, we all go as a family and just go bonkers for 3 1/2 hours 10 times a year.

I blame the Suns for the type of fans they have. The power of marketing and ticket pricing. And besides, the usher straight up told me that my kind of fan wasn't really welcomed anyways.

So tonight I was lucky enough to get great tickets to the Suns game. My uncle, a season ticket holder gave my mom and I his tickets because his son was under the weather.

I was sitting in section 113, row 16, and I was furious w/ the fans. I cant tell you how many times I was told to "sit down" after cheering for a good play (I often get most excited about little things like a nice box out or offensive board). An older lady (late 60s probably) in front of me was on her feet nearly the entire game cheering her heart out and people kept yelling at her family and my mom and I to sit down. I eventually couldnt take it and yelled back "stand up! There's no sitting in Conference Finals." It was miserable the entire first half, no one would stand (apparently its only time to stand during commercials- wtf?).

Eventually after being sworn at to sit down by one guy for the FIFTH time, I turned to him and said "stand up or go home, the team doesn't need you here." The guy then proceeded to threaten to punch both my mother and I out if we didn't sit down. I informed the usher to keep an eye on him, and the guy shut his mouth the rest of the night.

Next Suns game I go to, I want to be back up in the upper bowl w/ the real fans.

Come on over to section 120....we all stand and cheer, no one cares...bring the love!

This will never happen at the Convertible.

Hopefully I bough tickets and traveled to the CArds Lions game in AZ, I sit with a whole bunch of Lions fans around and behind me, but hell no I stood up and screamed like a Nutcase the whole game, I dont care I would do the same at the Suns game, screw fringe fans, taking up seats where real fans shoulkd be

Hell no. As per my previous post, he's EXACTLY the kind of fan we NEED down in the lower seats. It's just unfortunate that he's also the owner, so naturally it seems goofy for him to act that way, but also we're fortunate in that at least we can point to him in the crowd and tell the yuppies down there that that's the way to act down there, especially during the freaking playoffs.

Hm, I dont know about the being old thing. True, Im only 22, but my mom who is 45 (not old, but older than me) was up all game as well. So was the lady in front of me (who was probably in her late 60s) and her entire family (ranging from a toddler to her).

But I agree, w/ out the people who pay the big bucks, their would be no team. I just wish there was a way for the Suns to make money and keep the bottom line, but also have fans that aren't total tools. I almost think they should send out a letter or something to season ticket holders and tell them how to be a true fan. I don't know what the solution is, but I was very turned off by that game
