Solheim Cup stars Charley Hull and Georgia Hall were defeated at the historic and prestigous Sunningdale Foursomes. The tournament, first played in 1934, is staged over both the Old and New Courses at England's famed Sunningdale Golf Club.

Open to both male and female amateurs and pros, the event features an alternate-shot knockout format. Players are handicapped, but all compete from the same set of tees. The popular field is limited to 128 teams.

Best friends Hall and Hull were defeated by Tom Shadbolt and Ben Evans, 4 and 3, in the Round of 16 on Thursday. Hall, playing out of Wentworth, noted on Instagram that she had the best time, even if the weather was particularly rough.

Another set of Solheim Cup teammates - Maja Stark and Linn Grant - won the Sunningdale Foursomes in 2019. Lottie Woad, the current No. 1 amateur in the world, won it in 2022 with Rachel Gourley.

The event gives fans a chance to see current stars and rising stars in a more relaxed, up-close setting where even dogs are welcome.

Both Hall and Hull have each won twice on the LPGA, with Hall winning the 2018 Ricoh Women's British Open.
