For the 17th consecutive game, LSU baseball came out on top. The Tigers took on its first SEC road test Friday night, beating the Texas Longhorns 8-2.

It was a come-from-behind victory for LSU (22-1, 4-0 SEC). Texas (17-3, 3-1) broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third, but the Tigers struck back with a pair of runs in both the fourth and the fifth, and a four-spot in the seventh.

Kade Anderson dazzled on the mound once again, notching his third quality start of his sophomore campaign. In total, the lefthander threw six innings, struck out eight batters, and allowed just two runs on 101 pitches.

The bulk of the offensive effort came from catcher Luis Hernandez, who drove in three of LSU's runs on three hits, including a two-run home run in the top of the fourth.

The Tigers and Longhorns will be back in action Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.
