Grace Foster poured in 32 points, including seven in the last minute to lift No. 2 regional seed Lubbock Christian University women's basketball to a 68-65 victory against No. 7 regional seed University of Colorado-Colorado Springs in Friday's first round of the Division II NCAA Tournament in Denton.

Audrey Robertson scored 13 points for LCU, which rallied from a 61-57 deficit with 3 1/2 minutes left. Maci Maddox added 12 points and team highs of eight rebounds and four assists for the Lady Chaps.

"That's just true survival," said LCU coach Steve Gomez, whose team is No. 10 and No. 11 in the two Division II polls. "That's a tough team (opponent). They went on the road two games in the conference tournament, true road games, and won in tough places. We knew it was going to be a fight, and it was a scrap. We just happened to be the one that survived at the end.

"We could have played better, but some of that was due to their aggression, some of the things they did. But we just want to play again."

LCU (30-4) will face No. 6 seed West Texas A&M (19-12) at 5 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals of the South Central regional at Kitty Magee Arena. LCU has beaten West Texas A&M three times by double-digit margins this season.

The other semifinal pits regional host and top-ranked Texas Woman's (32-1) against the winner of Friday's late game between Colorado Mesa (25-5) and Eastern New Mexico (20-9).

UC-Colorado Springs (19-12) got 20 points and six assists from Amyah Moore Allen and 11 points and 15 rebounds from Maison White. The Mountain Lions led 62-61 going into the final minute. On the Lady Chaps' next two possessions, Foster made layup and then a three-point play, putting LCU up 66-62 with 16 seconds left.

After a missed shot on the other end, Foster's two free throws made it 68-62 with eight seconds remaining.

The 6-foot-1 senior from Childress was player of the year in the Lone Star Conference and the most outstanding player in the two-conference South Central Region.
