Luka Doncic seems to be starting to find his groove almost two months after getting traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. After struggling with his shooting in his initial games with his new team, he has now reached the 30-point mark eight times in his last 11 games, which includes a 45-point effort on March 13 versus the Milwaukee Bucks.

Although the Lakers got destroyed 146-115 by the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, it was another excellent night for the Slovenian superstar. He scored 34 points, and he was in volcano mode in the first half with 29 points on 9-of-14 field-goal shooting and 7-of-10 from 3-point range.

Those seven 3-pointers tied a personal career high for the most treys he has ever hit in a half.

Per Lakers: Luka Dončić scored 29 points (9-14 FG, 7-10 3FG, 4-4 FT) in the first half tonight vs. CHI, matching his season-high in points in either half.

Dončić’s seven three-pointers in the half match his career-high for triples in any half.

Doncic is still shooting just 41.3% from the field as a member of the Lakers, but he is now at a respectable 36.3% from beyond the arc with them. He seems to be becoming comfortable with his new teammates, and he is creating the type of open looks for them that they have seemingly never had before.

With Doncic drawing multiple defenders the way an industrial-strength vacuum cleaner gets rid of stubborn messes and substances, L.A. has now become a high-volume 3-point shooting team, and it even ranks seventh in 3-point attempts, sixth in 3-point shooting percentage and fourth in made 3-pointers so far in March.
