Cardinals Sign Second Round Pick Deuce Lutui to a Four-Year Contract

Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed Southern California guard Deuce Lutui to a four-year contract. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed.
The team’s second round (41st overall) selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, Lutui (6-4, 338 was a two-year starter at USC where he started in all 26 games that he appeared. An Arizona native and former Mesa High School Jackrabbit, Lutui started all 13 games at right tackle his junior season at Southern Cal in 2004 and moved to left guard in 2005 where he made all 13 starts last season.
A consensus All-American in 2005, Lutui was also named USC’s Offensive Lineman of the Year, co-Most Inspirational Player and co-Lifter Award.
Lutui began his college career at Mesa (AZ) Community College and then transferred to Snow (UT) Junior College before transferring to USC in 2004.
Lutui becomes the fourth member of Arizona’s 2006 seven selection draft class to be under contract. The team previously signed Louisville outside linebacker Brandon Johnson (fifth round, 142nd overall), Virginia Tech defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis (sixth round, 177th overall), and BYU wide receiver Todd Watkins (seventh round, 218th overall).
