Like he is going to play hard now! That money is guaranteed and he will be trade 4 times or so in the next 7 years before being cut!

Not quite sure about that. I'd bet you a quarter this contract is back-loaded pretty heavily. They'll never find a new home for him in year seven owing that much. Notice Artie Moreno hasn't tried to buy out Albert Pujols? I doubt even the Cardinals would take him back. It doesn't sound like either the Yankees or Red Sox had any interest in Machado. They would be the ones most likely to drop that much cheddar on an aging player #A-Roid

IMHO, this deal only solidifies the fact that S.D. will remain in mediocrity for the next decade. Which doesn't suck!
