Wonder if Macklin will get the start next game? Ware showed why he is a backup type player.

Holt is easily their best receiver. Why wasn't Rolle covering him?
I wondered this, too. And, after the drive that was the Torry holt Show, I damned well would have either A) switched Rolle to his side, B) put Macklin in for Ware C) Shifted to more zone coverage D) all of the above.

Instead, it seems we did E) none of the above. Very puzzling.

Call me crazy but that could be coaching?

Im the biggest Green apologist but the stuff he pulls is starting to bother me. Im sick of him putting caple guys in his "doghouse" and it killing this team. Ware should not of been playing in front of Macklin.

And to add to that I believe that we should have played Francisco instead of Griffith who was out of place on many plays and gave very little if no support to the CBs ... Francisco may be young, but he has a nose for the ball and can make a big hit or big play ...

Like Dansby? and apparently we do not make adjustments during the game...hence Ware is stuck with Holt and Rolle does not get a chance to actually EARN his reputation

Francisco probably wouldnt punch torry holt in the back with a haymaker on national TV as well after making a good play.

Well, Green complained about the lack of zone calls after the game.

Also, our corners play right and left, they match up with whoever happens to show up on their side of the ball.

Macklin did play yesterday. Hopefully, he's back to starting this week.

He is the headcoac right? So why didnt he make it happen? What good does it do for him to wait till after the game and complain about it?

He probably did. We started playing a lot more zone after the TD catch by Holt.

He shouldn't have complained about it after the game. At that point, you lick your wounds and take up coaching issues behind closed doors.

This game might have been the nail in the coffin for Green's chances to win here. This team was a basketcase after this loss.

Completely agree. But there are many games since his tenure that really have been just as bad. Its only harder to take now because we see the talent we have on this team. Thats why it stings so bad.

It doe'snt matter who's playing if all we're doing is playing off man coverage. Torry Holt killed us because 1. He's good & 2. his routes we not re-directed all day. We have'nt man pressed a wr in 2-3 years, & the results are really sickening. On the play where Ware stripped the ball from him (holt) on 3rd & 2, Ware was lined up 4-5 yards off of Holt to begin with. Real simple 2 yrd slant for the first down. In short yardage & goaline situations it's a un written rule for DB's to take away the slants. Solomon & Pendergast are once again playing scared man's football in the secondary. Robert Griffith is a liability back there in cover 2 & 3 as well.

This game should be the nail in Warner's coffin. If Green addresses this sitiuation this week by giving Leinart the first team snaps, I think the season can be salvaged from a "team" standpoint.

Not addressing the Warner situation will cause a rift between the defense and the offense that hasn't been seen since the old Ryan days.

Macklin only played after an injury to Ware that kept him out for a few plays. I hope he's back in the rotation as well.

But, teams DO often have their best cover corner play the opposing team's best WR. It happens all the time. It's an adjustment that should have been made, IMO.

Sorry Pariah... we do not make adjustments REAL-TIME because DG is too busy figuring out his next excuse and who to blame for the play-calling on O and D

OMG some of you have completely lost it. I guess you guys missed Bruce just torching Rolle on the other side? Bruce has lost a step or three and he still was running by Rolle. Rolle spent so much time trying to recover that he never looked at the ball. Swith Rolle on Holt? Laughable!

Except.... exchanging suck for suck, is a lateral move, so why bother?

Warner will be the starter for the year unless he is injured.

No way, not if he keeps turning the ball over at this historic rate.

He needs to get a lot better in order to keep his job through october, much less the season.
