I really don't know what direction the Cardinals will go this year in the draft. They have a bunch of needs that they can fill so going BPA makes the most sense. I don't see Fitz or Palmer playing the 2018 season so WR and QB are two areas that should be addressed.

1) Corey Davis - WR - W. Mich
This is my guy. I've been pimping him for a couple of months now. With this most likely being Fitz's final year now is the time to bring in his replacement. Davis would get a full year learning from one of the all time great WRs. Davis is a beast. He has the Size speed and route running skills to be one of the best WRs in the NFL.

2) Cordrea Tankersley - CB - Clemson
CB is one of the deepest positions in the draft this year and that sets up perfectly with the Cardinals needs! Tankersley gives the Cardinals another option opposite of PP. He has the size and physical play that the Cardinals love.

3) Marcus Williams - FS - Utah
Ball-Hawking FS that plays smart. Very athletic. He would be a steal here in the third round but with such a defensive back deep draft he should be there for the Cardinals.

4) Anthony Walker - ILB - Northwestern
The leader of the Northwestern Defense. This is the type of high character player that the Cardinals love. With the struggles of Robert Nkemdichi last year I think the Cardinals will head back to their draft strategy of bringing in leaders who love to play football.

5) Nathan Peterman - QB - Pitt
Peterman played in a NFL style offense in Pitt. That gives him a head start over most of the other QBs in the draft this year. He will then have a full year to learn the offense behind Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton. The Cardinals need to finally start grooming the successor to Palmer and Peterman could be that guy.

6) Tanoh Kpassagnon - DE - Villanova
Here is a developmental project who could someday replace CC. However he is still very raw. I think there are enough questions for him to fall in the draft. If he does I think the Cardinals will pounce on this potential beast.

7) Jerod Evans - QB - Virginia Tech
Another QB you say??!!! Yes. The Cardinals know that Palmer has only one maybe 2 years left in him. The have to find his replacement and that means bringing in as much competition at QB as possible. IMO Evans made a huge mistake by coming out early. Although he was probably tired of running the ball so much. He is an ultimate project at QB and will take at least a few years to learn a NFL system. Some will say he is the next Logan Thomas but I think he has more potential than Thomas.

Just an observation but, @NFLDraftScout (Matt Miller) with Bleacher Report just had the Cards picking Nathan Peterman in Round 2. He has contacts in NFL so I would think his projections on Round etc. should be considered.

Rankings are so subjective that it is tough to be critical or compare where a guy will fall based on one site or another. However, if you rank Peterman as the 5th or 6th best QB in the draft, it is probably safe to say that he will be a 3rd or 4th round guy.

MadCard...well thought out draft. I don't personally love the first two rounds, but those players are worthy of those picks so my issues are more preference. Good stuff.

I wish Corey Davis would be healthy enough to participate at the combine.

In no way is he or should he be ranked that high. PETERMAN? No way.

Supply and demand. If Peterman is the 5th or 6th best QB in the draft, he is probably taken in the 3rd or 4th round. Kinda an iffy class, so it wouldn't shock me.

You just repeated what you posted before. I'm clearly saying my opinion is that he's not the 5th or 6th best QB in the draft.

Drafting two QBs is tough in a situation where you 1. Have playoff aspirations, so 2. You keep a vet backup QB to get you through a game or two if Palmer gets hurt

That means you are going to have a young QB that gets no reps at all during the year -- and will be exposed to other teams on the practice squad. If the second young guy shows anything at all during the preseason -- some QB needy team with a roster spot can take him.

And BTW: if rounds 1-4 go that way, I've got no complaints.

He had a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the senior bowl. Then he tweaked his ankle preparing for the combine. I think this is a good thing as it may scare off a few teams and allow him to drop to the Cardinals.
