Cards make Day 1 draft day trade with Miami:

Cardinals swap 1st's with Miami (Miami selects OT Eric Fisher to replace Jake Long), Cards throw in our 5th rounder and land Miami's extra 2nd round pick (#54 overall).

1st round* (#12) (*From Miami)
Dion Jordan OLB - Oregon
Deadly off the edge rushing the passer. Yet athletic enough to cover receivers.
2nd round (#38)
Tyler Wilson QB - Arkansas
Arians gets his young QB to start grooming for the starting spot. Wilson had a solid Senior Bowl and would give Cardinals fans hope for the future. Could be thrown into the mix early on.
2nd round* (#54) (*From Miami)
Larry Warford OG - Kentucky
Warford is a poor mans Warmack. Big and strong he can move a pile. Showed really well at the Senior Bowl where he consistantly pushed defenders around. Instantly starts at RG.
3rd round (#69)
Stepfan Taylor - RB - Stanford
Big powerful RB who is proven durable. Won't beat anyone with speed but can do it all.
4th round
Chris Harper - WR - Kansas State
Anquan Boldin reborn. Harper lit up the Senior Bowl and was too physical for most DBs to handle. He will replace Doucet who is cut for salary cap reasons.
6th round
Joe Kruger - DE - Utah
Huge Frame similar to Campbell. Adds depth to the DL replacing some older vets who are on their way to retirement.
6th round* (*from Vikings from Titans)
Terron Armstead - OT - Arkansas Pine Bluff
Small school prospect that showed a ton of potential at the E/W Shrine Game.
6th round* (*from Vikings)
Ray Graham - RB - Pitt
Deceptively fast. Adds another dimension to the running game for Arians to play with. Would replace LSH if we are unable to resign him.

I like all of the picks. I'm not sure Arians will add another underneath threat like Harper, but I like him as a player personally.

one guard and a late round tackle? hm

Hey, Terron Armstead is a stud. He could very well go as high as the 4th round. He was highly recruited out of High School but chose a smaller college where he could do track and field as well.

Hell, if the Cards want smaller and more athletic OGs, I would not mind them drafting Armstead and trying him there.

We are kind of stuck with what we've got right now. Maybe we could cut Snyder but there would be no cap savings by doing that. We already have Colledge and Kelemete at guard and they are not going anywhere. Warford would isntantly compete for the starting job at RG with Kelemete.

Similarly at OT we have Brown, Massie, and Potter all of whom will be here next year. I'd love to add an early round OT but we have other needs as well.

its sad that our last HC left such empty cupboards on the offense.

Great job---excellent format!

I am high on Dion Jordan as well, although I think Ziggy Ansuh when coached up, will be an All-Pro, whereas Jordan may continue to struggle with injuries.

But I am impressed that you address a position that has been largely neglected for years.

I like Tyler Wilson too---but he was a tweener for me---not worthy of the #7 pick---but not likely to be available at #38. I sense that Wilson will be off the board by then. If he's not, you have done a fabulous job.

You might have to trade up for him.

The other thing is---Larry Warford won't make it to #54. He will be the 3rd G taken in the draft behind Warmack and Cooper, and will go between 31-45. I hate to say it or think it but I could see the 49ers taking him at #31 to complete that all-world o-line. The only thing is---they are suddenly looking thin at WR so I could see them taking a WR at #31 instead or a S if Dashon Goldson moves on.

So if Wilson is off the board, let's say at #38, I assume you would take Warford there---now who do you draft at #54?

I like all the players you chose. I look forward to your next one and you answer on option B at #54.

I'll let you pass on Warmack ONLY if you promise me Warford later.

Dion Jordon looks very good.

Yeah Warford may go early in the second due to his dominate performance at the senior bowl. I wouldn't have any heart burn selecting him at #38 overall.

So who would I take at #54 instead? Good question! I'm thinking the guy who I wanted to add to my draft originally but tried to squeze a QB in there instead:
Jonathan Cyprien SS - Florida International
Adrian Wilson isn't getting any younger and Cyprien could be his replacement. Cyprien was another player from the Senior Bowl who really stood out to me. The kid was like a guided missle from day one. Loved how physical he played all week at the Senior Bowl. It might be a little early for him but I like the kids potential and passion for the game!

I wouldn't be shocked if Warford lasts a bit longer than you think. Keep in mind swing players like Barrett Jones, Travis Frederick, Dallas Thomas, and Kyle Long carry a ton of value for teams and most should be selected before a power OG who struggles to move like Warford.

If I am going to take a S, I look at Eric Reid of Phillip Thomas before this guy, but I do like where your head is at.

I've seen this kid play and you deserve real kudos for this pick. Great choice!

I like it outside of Harper. I don't see why we'd pick another reciever.
I can see a receiver, but I don't understand anything other than a fast deep threat. We have plenty of big possession type receivers, but not a single burner who can consistently beat the defense over the top.

Agree 100% with Fitz and Floyd. Speed is all that's missing.

Instead of Harper, possibly Michael Williams TE from Alabama. We know Arians will likely want to run a double TE set. Williams will be a solid red zone threat and a beast in run blocking.

I like most trade down senario's this year in particular, that adds another quality 2nd rounder. Especially since we need to address a rookie QB, mtl. It gives us much needed flexability.

I could see the Cards taking a shot at Michael Williams in the 6th or 7th round. With his lack of speed, I don't see him being drafted before that with the depth of the TE position in this draft.

In fact, I will be shocked if we don't add two TEs this offseason probably in the draft.

I would like that as well, but you have to consider the Jets, Titans, Chargers and Dolphins pick 9-12 and all could be looking for offensive line help. If you are willing to risk missing out on Warmack, Cooper, Fisher, and Lane Johnson, you can trade back. I worry about it being another Suggs situation. We trade back with Miami, only to see the another team trade up to get the guys we want or the teams we move behind taking them.

I'm just not sure I would take the gamble of missing out on an OG who is so talented, he is a top 15 talent.

I'm assuming Early Doucet is cut for cap reasons. Harper would replace Doucet.

Would it be nice to have another burner at WR? Yes. However watching Harper during the Fiesta Bowl and especially during Senior Bowl week really made me fall in love with the guy. This guy is Anquan Boldin reborn!

I just dont see us adding a 5th rounder. We are in a prime position and if you want to move up then that should be the cost. Miami 's 1st and the #54 for our 1st. Also Miami has a ton of money to spend on FA and a alot of picks this year.

I get your logic of replacing Doucet's spot, but I just don't see the point unless your going to add the type of receiver that we are currently missing. Which would be a speed receiver. Otherwise we could look to guys like Byrd for instance to fill that hole in the roster.

No TE in this mock. See Zach Sudfeld 4-7.

Giovanni Bernard over Taylor at RB.

No Wilson at QB please. Doubt if he will be there in 2nd, but Glennon if he is. Tyler Bray if not Glennon.

Really do like your picks swap/trade in the 1st round with Dion Jordan at #12. Dolphins will let Long go and Fisher is their guy. They will panic if they think Cards will take Fisher. Lane Johnson will be their pick if Cards won't trade. Cards could do well with Johnson if trade is made. Grabbing Jordan with the #1 and go offense the rest of the draft.
