Has anyone tried both? I use gamefly and have both shipping now and should arive tomorrow. I havent been able to find any info on this except 10 year olds arguing on video game forums and whatnot and thats not a pretty sight.

The way i see this is:

360 madden 06 was complete garbage but rushed, this one wont be rushed but will it still waste all kinds of time showing off the graphics with stupid camera angles mid game? will the playbook interface still be all jacked up? i could go on forever.

I have been playing madden since 1992 when it first hit the shelves and friggin love it. The ps2 versions have been the most solid of all time especially madden 06 with the new vision cone thing and all the other features. All of my friends own and play it on ps2 so i like knowing my controller and whatnot for tournaments. the ps2 is not new to programmers and i would assume were gonna get the same rock solid gameplay with all the new features and then some.

My impression of the 360 version is that while it will look prettier and be more fluid, it will still be lacking in depth that the ps2 version has. That impression is just gained from reading opinions and trying to filter through biased bs.

tomorrow i should have them both and ill be spending alot of time jammin it so ill be sure to try and get a solid review and comparison for anyone else who may have the same questions i do.

Ive also always found the ps2 controller is the best controller for madden by far, not a fan of the triggers. Rumors around now is 360 has no fatigue, poor camera angles, no owner mode. I also hear though that 360 has (and ps2 doesnt) online franchises and alot more online features which is a major plus.

Anyone tried them both yet? opinions? thoughts?

PS gamefly if you dont know is just like netflix, an internet rental company, i spend 23 bucks a month and beat all kinds of games and just send them back and save a ton of dough on buying games that play for a month and turn into a dust collector. theyr running a thing right now that if 5 people sign up with your reference theyll give you a nintendo DS lite so i figure i should drop my link in here for a reference if anyone wants to try out the service, i usually pimp it to everyone even when they werent offering me a DS just because of how much money i save

I have both systems and decided to go with the PS2 version for three reasons. First, I have always liked the gameplay and flow on PS2 better than XBOX (and NCAA or 360). Second, all my friends play on PS2 also so I don't want to be that far behind them getting used to the controlers. Third, I am actaully looking forward to PS3 as the best of both worlds. PS2 gameplay + 360 graphics, and since they are keeping the controllers for PS3, why not stay with that system.

Oh and I also just got a wireless Cardinals controller for PS2, so had that entered in also.

So i calle din sick today and expect the games in the mail (THEY BETTER COME!!!)

ive been reading maddenmania and easports.com forums on reviews and cant find much about ps2 and tons on 360, it appears the issue may be that ps2 delivered and people have turned off madden to come complain about the 360.

All ive read on ps2 is that stuff has been added and the normal bugs are there but its solid.

360 on the other hand does not let you edit players or have fantasy drafts, no owner mode, no minicamp, no hitstick, no fatigue, hall of famers when unlocked go into free agency, menu glitches. 360 however can be fixed by patches but i dont think you can add all the depth ps2 has with a patch. I was beginning to darkside and lean toward 360 until hearing all of the complaints, cant wait to try both out and see for myself

I know for a fact there is hitstick in the 360, and highlight stick (called impact stick in NCAA). I would bet a lot of the stuff complaining about is wrong or exaggerated.

And updates on 360 will be good.

even with those 2 minor things being there the major things are missing apparently, hopefully ill have better knowledge of it in a few hours. apparently on 360 you also cant use all the franchise options of hiring/firing coaches and all the other offseason duties either. It sounds like its a great game if you dont plan on playing it for a long time as the franchise and superstar are stripped of features along with other things not working right. Id like to switch to 360 but we will have to see. my ps2 is dusty as all hell

360 arrived today, ps2 tomorrow.

Ill start by saying the ps2 one is almost sure to be better.

I just finished an online game (no ranked all madden, only all pro) edge had 12 carries for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns, final score 58-35. The game is childs play online, not having all madden ranked is a major nono. Superstar mode has cameras zoom in on you and impairs your vision heavily, nowhere near what youd truly see on the field. As the HB for example in a shotgun formation, im on the right and my job is to block, when the ball snaps the camera goes to the right of me and focuses on the center of the field, i stand there acting like i can do somthing and then watch the LOLB blitz right by me because i did not see him coming. The offence heavily overpowers defence, defenders dont try to make plays oftenon theyr own at all. Lead blocker is awesome but should be awesome on ps2 also. If you start playing before you start a franchise or superstar you will unlock hall of famers who immediatly fo into the free agent pool as rookies with 99 stats. Unless you saved a roster right away your stuck with guys like james brown playing in the 2006 league. The only way to avoid this is by having a saved roster from when you first turned on the game and loading it before you start a ffranchise.

QB vision is nowhere near as accurate and doesnt seem to use percision passing.

Minicamp is severly lacking, only 5 modes vs the 10 or more on ps2. fo yuard dash is lame, bench press repetitive.

kickoff returning has gotten much better, a somewhat wedge is now formed to block for you

online is insanely laggy and almost not worthj playing it moves so slow.

all in all right now i feel it is a good game but every good feature should be good on ps2 also with 100 million more better featureson it to add on top.

I've played both also. I like the gameplay for PS2 and the controls much more. The interface for the 360 is very nice though and in between plays it is much nicer. But the graphics aren't that amazing during the actual gameplay and maybe it's because I'm not that used to it but i prefer the PS2 version much more

I played more 360 last night and had a little more on it

Once again all-pro online ranked is the dumbest idea ever, the offence is so vamped up on 360 that playing on all pro is a joke. I played 2 ponline games last night, once guy quit in the first qurter when i went up 21-0 and the second guy i beat 73-31. He only for 31 because after halftime when it was 52-0 he wouldnt quit and i started playing sloppy out of boredom, all of his scores were really long bombs after scrambling to the sides of the field. Granted the guy kinda sucked but his defense was sub-par, good enough to keep me from 72 points. edge has 308 yards again on 16 carries and 5 touchdowns.

i am not liking the 360 version vs madden 06 on ps2 so i assuming madden 07 on ps2 is gonna be a blessing after playing this.

One other thing i just noticed, they put the cards entrance tunnel in the wrong spot on madden, i sit there, there is no tunnel in the endzone.

Yeah i'm picking up madden 07 this weekend but I cant make up my mind to get it for the 360 or ps2. The reasons I might like it better on the ps2 or regular xbox is they have owner mode, college all star game, and defense playemaker which i really like that they dont have on 360... But on the otherhand 360 has great graphics that would be hard to pass up man this is going to be a hard decision to make... So what you guys think should I get it for ps2 or 360?

No by defense playmaker I mean where you can send one of your linebackers or safteys to blitz or go into spy coverage without having to send all your linebackers to blitz.
