That looked bad..... Hopefully it's a 50% curse.

Troy could be out a while.

He had Alge Crumpler land on his knee. If his leg was higher by a couple inches the ligaments in his knee would've been shredded to hell and back. It looks like a sprain but I wouldn't be surprised if something was torn.

Better him than the other guy on the cover. Hopefully this will satisfy the curse gods (or devils).

I think Polomalu will be alright. He was smiling and talking as if everything was OK.

I'm gonna go with the 50% curse theory. I mean it's usually only one guy on the cover! Right? Right? :stick:

He'd had a great game to that point, right? You[we] cant believe in every two bit penny ante "Curse" that comes along or the aura around us fans will be so negative it WILL rub off on the players..Let's pray[for Prayer is certainly stronger than any curse] for team health this year as we did last year, and hope for the best!!

well it was a smart theory to put one of the league's elite DB's and WR's on the cover. it can't go wrong right? My brother and I just looked at each other and talked about madden right away when TP was down. What's next for fitz? He runs a route and chokes on his saliva? I seriously don't believe in a curse, but if I was a player after all of this I don't think I would be on that cover.

Larry's not worried. He is a man of God and faith.

Larry isn't worried, and I'm not worried. Just asking God to protect him and the rest of the team. (Which I do every game anyway.)

I wouldn't be worried either. I feel the same way. I know TroyP does as well and does not believe in those things.

this is just some sort of weird scenario. If I saw two guys walk in front of me and get struck by lightning I'd probably go the other way. eventhough my chances of getting struck are slim to none...nor have to do with a curse.

I bet he wouldn't walk under an erect ladder or purposely break a mirror either.

that's funny. that's kind of how i am...and I am a man of faith as well believe heavily in the bible. but that's neither here nor there.

football is a violent game...people get hurt period. there is no curse or hex. what happened to the curse of the bambino? looks like the red sox wern't cursed..in retrospect it appears that they are blessed to have one of the best franchises in the history of the game. and the cubs? they just lose. it's funny the texas rangers have been losers for years and have only won 1 playoff game in their history(i know it's a short one). but they are not cursed they just don't have winning tradition..the cubs just happen to be a old team that has a loyal fan base in spite of their losing. sorry if I changed the topic.

Not superstitious? Then how do you explain this:

LOL @ people trying to logic their way out something that's been on point for a decade now.

One time is chance, second time is coincidence, after three it becomes a pattern.

Thank you, DemsMyBoys! Now if Fitz does go ahead and get hurt, it still won't be "the Madden Curse", He plays one of the hardest games on the planet..

The brickish font and red color you insist on posting in is giving me a headache; sorry I feel like you're yelling everytime I read your post.

Can we change your name to Sam Kinison?

RedRob.. Its Cardinal Red, and I bold it out so I can find my posts with my poor eyesight while scrolling down the page. Hopefully, now that you know it's Cardinal Red, not brick red you'll cut me some slack on the colour and the Bold.I'm sorry about your headache..

No such things as a curse. It's only a curse if you want to believe in & buy into such crap.

Him and every other football player. Kurt Warner is one of the most religious people in the league but he has yet to play two full consecutive seasons. Prayer doesn't put a magical barrier on their bones.

Oh yeah, it was on point with Eddie George who put up personal bests in yardage and TDs the year he was on the Madden cover. All that happened with Ray Lewis was he didn't get a pick. Here is a list of "cursed" athletes:

Garrison Hearst: Career high total in yardage. Injured in playoffs. His bones were made of glass before the curse, nothing changed.

Barry Sanders: Hated playing for the Lions. Can you blame him?

Daunte Culpepper: He was never durable to begin with.

Marshall Faulk: He was 30, practically all backs decline when they hit 30.

Michael Vick: Infamous for having paper mache bones.

Donovan McNabb: In his 10 seasons, he's only played four full ones.

Shaun Alexander: Old age, lost his best blocker Steve Hutchinson, and worked like a donkey in the preceding years. It was the perfect storm.

Vince Young: Wasn't even good to begin with.

Brett Favre: He's thrown about 10,000 times in the NFL and hasn't been on the bench since 1992. To think something wasn't going to break down in his arm eventually is crazy.

Spot the real pattern? The "cursed" players are old RBs and QBs, the two most injury prone positions in the league. They take hundreds of hits a year making their body breaks down.

LT is a perfect example of "the Curse". He was going to be on the Madden cover but declined for legal reasons. He got injured in the playoffs that year and got injured the year after and put up his worst professional year. Had he been put on the cover people would be spouting curse.
