In Anna I trust
This guy is so hard to listen to some times, but most of the time he just cracks me up. Some of my favorite quotes

"In football you have to score more points than the other team to win"
"The only way to have a good pass is to throw the ball"
"The reason the Broncos have more rushing yards is that they have ran the ball further than the Raiders"

What about Madden on McNabb

Before the game, Madden just made me scratch my head on one of his typical long drawn out obvious statements. He said something like:"What makes McNabb so dangerous is that he can step back and throw, he can run around and buy time to throw, he can step back and run around and then run..." ah, John we know that. I can't remember the exact quote but it sounded like the instructions to the two guards by the king in the swamp castle from Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail.

Now THAT is the deep-thinking, insightful stuff that keep me hanging on every word. I have learned SO much from that man...he is like a teacher...a guru...is the NFL Ghandi!

How about this gem from last night, when they (for some ungodly reason) started talking about how Brad Johnson's center (I forget his name) gets some big time sweat action on his posterior.

I guess Brad had said before the game how now when he takes a snap, he gets a nice wet spot on the top of his hand.

So Madden just unbelievably goes "He puts his hands in there for the snap and it's like a rain forest."

Good lord, I thought that was about the worst thing ever, and then they kept talking about it, go to Lisa on the sidelines about it...oh my!

I know. It got even worse when Lisa stated that they will be keeping an eye on it the rest of the game. WTF? I can live the rest of my life without seeing close-ups of that dudes sweaty ass.

And what are they going to see?

Al: "And now we go down to Lisa on the sideline. Lisa?"

LG: "Hi, Al. While the D is on the field, I thought I'd investiate the affore-mentioned crack sweat. I'm here to tell you that it is, indeed, sweaty down there. Back to you, Al."

Al: "Umm... Thanks, Lisa. In an unrelated matter, we're thinking about you, Melissa Stark. Back to the game."

Dude- did anybody listen to Mike&Mike last week. Mark Schlereth (Sp?) was filling in and he talked at length about how he used to pi$$ his pants during a game. No need to run to the locker room, don't hold it until the half, just let it go!

He then preceeded to tell about the preseason game when he was with the Redskins when he pi$$ed himself. He figured he was out of the game until their center go hurt and he went in to play. The QB (can't remember who) called him over to take a few practice snaps and "sploosh", urine everywhere!

Thank goodness I had already ate breakfast

They need new announcers Al is fine but they need a couple of ex players who have played like this century.

When you talk football 24/7 your are going to restate the obvious like 1 million times. Do you think it's that complicated that you can over 30+ years and 16 games a year consistently come up with insiteful comments?

I think thats why Madden sticks because he does it in a funny way I mean what else is there to say? They could dissect the plays with the correct terminology and watch half the United States start throwing beer at the screens while the other half just changes channels.

I never liked Boomer I like lookin a chicks as much as the next guy but he was always hawkin on some cheerleader or hot fan and that gets old... We can see her too Boomer and yeah we'd like to yada yada yada but we don't need you to point it out in front of our wives either you stupid... @!#!@#!@#

Dennis Miller was to say the least committing career suicide which was spectacular in it's speed and depth. Fired from HBO and Monday Night Football all in less than a year. I like Dennis but he didn't really fit.

Madden is the Yogi Berra of football. Sometimes he's right on with analysis (he did a breakdown on the Redskins O-Line Thursday night that showed how good he was), and other times he's like a Zen master on the short bus, or something. I love John Madden. As long as they don't show him on-screen, I'm pretty happy.

Have you noticed that he doesn't use the telistrator as much anymore? I wonder if someone at Disney/ESPN/ABC took it away from him.

I miss Melissa too, I just can't get into Lisa, she's too...something, I can't put my finger on it.

I think it's because Melissa, while pleasing to the eye, also seemed to take her job seriously, and not be too concerned about being hot (she was more pretty, but the fact that she was talking football made her wicked hot). Lisa seems too into being hot, making sure we all know it (what was that purple thing around her neck?), and just filling time. I think it has something to do with her time on FOX Sports, but Lisa's a little to meta-ironic to come off right. Also, when she talked to Ramsey after Thursday's game, she came off like an idiot ("I saw Coles talking to some of his teammates in the pre-game. What was he saying?").

Exactly, what was that thing?
