I like it A LOT, but I think you might find some other people who will find fault with it.

Since it is the Salute to Service game, some people will be offended comparing/equating Palmer's 12 years of service playing a game with military vets who put their lives on the line...or something.

Saying he is the "True" veteran, might rub them the wrong way.

Or maybe I am the only one reading that much into it.

It doesn't bother me, but I also had the same thoughts about it. It might rub some the wrong way - like just about everything does these days.

Still, I like it better than the rest.

Maybe just Captain Carson, thanks for Carson, In Carson we trust, Carson for MVP, Carsons' Cardinals. Adding "true veteran" is for sure something that can be misconceived.

Yes, this occurred to me as well after posting - to not equate the two types of veterans. Perhaps:

"WE SALUTE
CAPT. CARSON"

"OUR VETERAN
CAPT. CARSON" (previous suggestion)

I think you avoid the potential for blow-back with either one. (I am partial to the second one, I think.)

I can go for a whole lot of these suggestions. But, PLEASE not "No Pity for the Kitty".

We aren't Seahawks fans. We don't have to blatantly rip off the traditions of a college football program to support our NFL team.

I STRONGLY dislike any attempt to compare a veteran NFL player with a military veteran. There's no comparison, it's not clever or funny, and it would be a big mistake on the banner.

Either honor veterans, or keep it topical to the game or players, but trying to mix the two is a bad, and offensive, idea.

I don't like signaling anyone out. Especially since he has the ability to be very up and down. Sure he is great now, but it could be a 4 INT game for all we know.

Uplifting, with a broad appeal.

SOUND OFF
BIRDGANG!

(Military vets will get it and we OWN Birdgang. Let's use it.)

WIN-NER.

Add a dash in bird gang, or a space.

SOUND OFF
BIRD GANG.

I love that, as a vet.

Not a fan of equating Carson with veterans or captain. Could rub a lot of people the wrong way.

So much yes. No pity for the kitty is amateur hour, and I'm an ASU alum. It's just...collegiate. And directly means UofA when we say kitty.
