Magic @ Suns Game Thread

I now expect the Suns to lose every time they play. It's hard to take them seriously.

I threw some money on Magic tonight to soften the blow.

I guess many posters around here must be happy, because that's exactly what they wanted. And, if the Suns get really lucky, then three or four consecutive seasons like this might even net them a future all-star in the draft

Not for me. I'd rather watch Beasley than Warrick. Now, I'm not trying to say Beasley is better than Hakim, he isn't, but Beasley is a supportive teammate that tries to make his team better. I always thought Hakim played hard on the court even though he indeed was inconsistent. However, he played with effort although one never knew what they were going to get from him on a given night. Beasley, although talented, seems to play with inconsistency as well. Hakim was never considered as a go-to player whereas Beasley was obtained for that purpose, at least as a scorer. The biggest thing I see between the two players, Gentry seems compeled to play Beasley whereas Hakim was just another option. I think Gentry is locked into Blanks and/or Babby's decision to develop him which hurts the team. By the way, I liked Tim Thomas' game when he was with the Suns.

On the nights he was fully engaged, he was just a step down from Amare. But, all too often he would just stand around and make no effort. IMO, the guy was all hustle some nights and a zombie on others. And I do believe he was brought in here to be something close to a go-to scorer. As for Tim Thomas, I also liked his game when he was with us - he was a huge asset for us. It wasn't what he did here and there though, it's what he did when a contract wasn't on the line.

Wes Johnson has twice now fouled guys shooting 3s. Not the plays to make if you're trying to get out of the doghouse.

Its really hard to watch a team with so many stupid players.

I'd rather see him foul him rather giving him an open look. That has happened far too frequently with this team.

On that same note...

It was really sad last game to see Dudley promoted to the starting lineup, play very well in the minutes he was given, the TEAM play well in the minutes he was given... and for him to get the fewest total minutes he has seen all year.

He didn't play the fourth quarter. We lost the game in the fourth quarter. You do the math.

Warrick was a complete idiot on defense but he had some really nice games on offense at times. He's way more fun to watch than Beasley.

Actually, I was really only talking about his offense. He was consistent on defense, always bad. On offense, he'd be great for a few games and then he'd take a break for a few games until Gentry couldn't stand it anymore and he'd yank him from the starting lineup. Then, of course, at some point he'd again turn it on and play his way back into major minutes. My point was that he was just as bad on defense as Beasley but unlike Beasley, on offense he could have been everything we needed him to be. He chose otherwise and I have a greater disdain for players that fail from lack of effort.

I think Warrick was just too inconsistent on defense for him to get long looks on the offensive end. Gentry wasn't pleased with his lack of a brain on the defensive end. It's the same deal with Beasley except Beasley is awful on offense too.

Warrick is one of the most consistent guys on the defensive end I've ever seen play in the NBA. Beasley, on the other hand, now and then makes a good play.
