the summer league is pretty much affirming the draft hype
Bagley looked good on offense, Bamba on defense, etc..
Ayton is looking like the #1 pick
he looks to be the must un-bustable of the picks as well
and he'll only be better in the regular season
i'm sure he's containing himself in summer league to not risk injury and let others be showcased

JJ is trying to find himself and he's trying too hard to be a scorer in summer league. he should be fine when he's playing with our starters if he takes the opportunities that will be there for him and focus on other roles

Okobo seems like a disciplined point guard who can fit a distribution role

okay, I enjoyed tonight's game, but let's try to have some objectivity. He committed a terrible turnover and because he runs up the cord and fouls the guy we are supposed to get super excited? I was glad he showed the effort to try to block it. Don't know if I go as far to say I was impressed by it though. I certainly don't understand how it's a highlight clip.

Give him a crown, he had a decent summer league game in his 3rd game as a 3rd year player.

And like always it completely hinges on making 3s because that is the only thing he can sometimes contribute. 0 assists, 0 freethrows, 0 steals, 1 block and 1-4 from inside the arc.

I'm not in favor of getting another PG. I don't think BK will keep Okobo and Harrisnon on the bench - he'll be exposed quickly on defense and he's not a good distributor either. He has a career ast/TO ratio of 1.6. I'd much rather use this year to bring Okobo and Harrison along further and that is what will happen if we don't add another PG. They're already much better than Knight, particularly on defense - which is needed alongside Booker. I wouldn't go do far as to call Harrison a lockdown defender but he's close - he reminds me of PJ the way crowds his man and then stays with him. Okobo isn't as good a defender but he is more calm and poised in running the team and he shoots better. Bring Harrison off the bench to disrupt the other team. With Harrison, Reed(if he stays health), and Bridges
on the second unit we could put a lot of pressure on the opponents.

I'm hoping that's the path Igor wants to take and I won't be surprised if he does.

Orlando scored 86 in their 30 point win over the Griz on Sunday the Suns held them to 53. They held Sac Town to 63. I don't know that I've ever seen any Suns team defend like this, even in summer league. The culture of the Suns has ALWAYS been run and gun.

No idea if this will carry over to real games but the Suns have some really nice defensive choices. Ariza is a premiere defender. My guess is he'll have a major impact on the culture of this team. The Suns seem to have the talent to be an aggressive defensive team. Would love to see them adopt the No D No Play philosophy. Use a 9 or 10 man rotation and wear teams down.

Except for Booker, of course, and to a lesser degree, Ayton. All joking aside, I do agree with everything you said. They do have some really good individual defenders, and they appear to be playing some defense as a team as well.

I'm will not get into player comparisons but every team teams a brick and mortar player that flat out loves to play and knows the game. And he would be a very reasonable contract. He is like a pillar inside, knows how to rebound and can put the ball in the basket. He makes the easy plays.

Sometimes I think fans get attached to flashy athleticism but Cooley can always give a team a few minutes here and there and not hurt the team. The Suns should strongly consider finding room on a roster somewhere as a 15th player, two-way player (if eligible) or on their G-League team.

There is some truth to this. Josh cannot fall in love with driving the ball to the basket. However, Josh plays defense and brings tremendous energy to the team.

I will look at later when I have time. Right now I'm looking at it from a process of elimination. For example, I know Okobo and Harrison makes the team. I don't think Peters brings enough to the table. I'd like to keep Reed. From experience, it's hard to find a rock solid roster 15 or 17 players deep so there will be movement. Also I'm expecting trades to be made.

If we are going to make trades, it has to be soon. It's hard to make trades this time of year. Most GM's just wait for the cuts and pick up players for free. If you want to thin your roster, you have to trade core players.

Goodwin was actually pretty good in SL most of the years. It was in the actual NBA that he sucked.

JJ thus far has struggled in SL.

I love to hear Kokoskov talk about addressing his shot selection with JJ. Maybe having him come off the bench and starting Bridges would light a fire under him like it did when Triano DNP’d in January as well.

Isaac and Bamba are impressive specimins, but man are they WEAK. Ayton had his way and they couldn't stop him. Felt like most of the time, Ayton didn't have any real competition getting to the rim. Bamba is long, but that's it.

Cooley played 9 minutes and had 10 points, 5 boards, an assist, a steal, and a block. He's horrible!

Can Shaq Harrison be our starting pg? He is not a good shooter, but he has done pretty well as a distributor (not great, but OK), but his defense is just stellar. The advantage of that defensive intensity is that it sets the tone on every possession for the entire team. I have always maintained that the defensive work of the pg is underrated. If you can apply defensive pressure on the opposing pg the entire game, it is very difficult for him to get into an offensive rhythm.

Right now, if I had to choose between a shooter or defender for our pg, I would choose a defender. This team needs a defensive presence. I am not trying to make the case, I am just doing a little speculating.
