Manning will officially hit the waiver wire at 4pm EST today from what they are saying on tv this morning.. then the teams will look at him, then he will look at the teams that make offers.. I wouldnt expect a decision where he goes for maybe a week, if not maybe longer.. obviously if the Cards are the choice the decision will be made wiyhin 10 days.. If it goes longer than that, he aint coming to AZ I would assume..

If Graves makes this happen, he gets a free pass from me from here on out...

This is waaay bigger than Rod Graves. This will most definitely involve Michael B, and probably Mr. B. as well. It will take some serious coin to land Peyton Manning and Rod Graves won't be making the final decision IMO.

In an article posted by by Michael David Smith on March 7, 2012, 12:09 PM EST at MSNB news, the following quote:

Ultimately, however, Irsay had to make a tough decision for the future of the franchise, and the reality is that Irsay didn’t think he could afford an aging quarterback with a bad neck and a huge contract any longer.

“We both wanted to be together,” Irsay said. “It’s been very difficult — and just tearing at our hearts — to try to look at the best solution. Peyton has been completely unselfish in terms of looking at the franchise, where we were at at this point. . . . It’s never been about money, it’s never been about those types of things.”

So it's not about the money?

Although the Cardinals might be able to sign Manning to a more reasonable contract than the Colts, does it worry anyone about the perspective given in the quote I posted earlier from profootballtalk.

Can the Cardinals really catch lightning in a bottle (Kurt Warner) again? I just do not want the Cardinals to lose Skelton in the process. I wouldn't mind the Manning era in Arizona so long as the Cardinals can keep Skelton long term.

I completely agree. I'd love Manning here as long as we can sure up Skelton to a long term deal as well. Cut Kolb, he's better in a West Coast Offense and doesn't have nearly enough QB IQ to let Whiz give him full reins (like he did with Warner and definitely would with Manning).

I'm sure, if AZ is on Manning's short list, as has been mentioned, he would take a little less so that we'd have enough to sign a couple tackles to help protect him here with all the other positive tangibles the Cardinals can provide to him. If we can do that, we'd have to be a team to beat in the NFC.

I have a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to us possibly getting Manning though. In regards to him seeing us give so much in terms of talent and money to Kolb last year, only to drop him like a bad habit this year.

Guys, take a moment and just scroll down the list of threads. Does anyone else think it is overkill to have every thread about Manning. I'm pretty sure even the Manning Family message board isn't THIS Manning-centric.
