While in San Antonio, a friend of a friend went to Brent Barry's house before Game 4. Barry has one of those 4-foot basket set-ups in one of the rooms for his twoyear- old son, Cade.

Sure enough, the kid is shooting with form from different spots away from the basket . . . and downing them.
After a series of makes, Barry directed, "Now do your Manu Ginobili impression" whereupon his kid took the ball and made a layup . . . then crashed/flopped to the floor.

LOL

That's pretty bad when your own teammates think you flop too much

Here's another secret the Spurs don't want to get out.

See if you've heard this one before: The Spurs need younger, more athletic players who can beat people off the dribble. It's exactly what they should have added last July, instead of bringing in another aging standstill shooter in Damon Stoudamire, whose only action against the Lakers in the West finals was nine minutes of mop-up duty in the Spurs' 30-point loss in Game 2. NY Daily News

This summer they can offer the mid-level exception, but they're not going to break up their nucleus of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Limited by what could be an arthritic condition in his ankle, Ginobili scored 10 points or less in all four losses to L.A. NY Daily News

I'm not sure how sports teams treat arthritic condidations. I broke my hip in college and it eventually became arthritic and led to needing a full hip replacement. Obviously it is not that severe with Manu, but as far as I know there is no real cure since it is a degereration of the bone at the joint.

Did you see the slomo replay of Lamar stepping on the side of Manu's ankle?

Very Bowen like.

Nah, I was too busy counting championships from last century.

Honestly at this point I have nothing against Manu. The guy can get to the rim with a bizarre change of direction which has led many teams to just foul the crap out of him in order to stop it. So he's doing the flopping to make sure he get's calls. Nothing wrong with that..

The guy can be hard to stop and that's why people dislike him.

No, people dislike him because he has all the talent in the world yet chooses to taint his skills with piss poor tactics.

He also carries the ball a lot as he takes extra steps. It's really hard to stop someone who doesn't have to dribble.
