"I'm not just thinking of doing it, I'm going to do it," Marbury vowed yesterday. "My wife loved it there. It's like a [David] Beckham thing."

Yeah, just like the Beckham thing, except Beckham has talent.

Maybe he can take his gun-toting cousin with him.

Why all the hate? Marbury has talent and does a lot for the community. Good luck to him, wherever he plays.

The funniest part:
Asked if the Knicks were on the verge of a title in two years, Marbury said, "We're on the verge right now in my mind.":biglaugh:

This is all the proof we need: Get too close to Isiah Thomas, and you will either collapse into a festering ball of hatred, or you will go insane.

How do you even compare the two?

I guess you can't, I guess I would say that they are both comparable as far as where you could rank them against the rest of the players in their sport. (Although both have slipped quite a bit over the last couple years)

I agree with that.

I think Starbury is insane. Although he has enough money to be that way and not have to worry about it.

If I had to pick one player who is not compatible with the European game Marbury would be the first to come to mind. His teammates and coaches will absolutely hate him.

Yep, you're both overrated and washed up players who gonna make a lot of money playing in third-rate leagues.

What's interesting with Stephon is after reading Telfair's book the jump I was convinced Stephon was the biggest jerk around, badmouthing Telfair because he was jealous of the attention Sebastian was getting etc.

now a few years later I have a completely different view of it, I see Marbury as a selfish player who appears to be doing GOOD things off the court, and I see Telfair as a cocky kid who can't back it up and keeps getting in trouble off the court.

Funny how your opinion can change over a few years.

i dont know if Marbury would have anywhere near the imaginary appeal that Beckham has had here.

would Italy REALLY care that much if Marbury decided to play for them. Most people would probably just say "who?"

yeah, the alternative appeal of beckham being extremely appealling to women wouldn't be mirrored by marbury in italy, and marbury doesn't come with a posh spice (which appeals to men for obvious reasons and to women who love the tabloids).
