This obviously hinges on what happens in the NBA. If no NBA games get cancelled, then Gortat won't be playing in Russia.I don't mind as much as I mind him playing for the Polish National team and THEN playing in Russia.

I do wonder why he would choose Russia and not some better European league.

Oh,if i must be honest Russian league is one of the best in Europe, mayby Spanish is better but like I said befor it's one of the best
Thought the Russian league was like the Greek league with a couple power house teams and other teams being sub par. As far as I know the Spanish league is considered much stronger top to bottom. Hard for me to say, but Spanish league games seem to be televised in the US more.
I bet the tam in question is CSKA Moscow just based on the amount they are willing to spend on players.
Apparently Gortat's agent is refuting the report that Gortat has agreed to play for Spartak Saint Petersburg.
http://blogs.hoopshype.com/blogs/sierra/2011/07/18/gortat-report-denied/Agent Guy Zucker refuted reports that his client Marcin Gortat is headed to play in Russia next season.
“I can assure you that the story claiming that he has reached an agreement with Spartak St. Petersburg of Russia is incorrect,” Zucker said. “While I have a lot of respect for Spartak St. Petersburg and its GM, Alex Karvanen, Gortat has not signed with or reached an agreement with Spartak St. Petersburg or any club whatsoever.”
