Its a good thing he has that motor to make plays down field, because he surely isn't skilled enough to get to the QB off the snap.

Talking about Goldens good motor is like talking about a fat girls good personality.

IDC, I want sacks.

he should get them. On that play he got double teamed and still made a play. No way would he get a sack with the way the linemen doubled him.

I'm happy with what he's done so far. I've seen him get multiple pressures on the QB going up against 1's & 2's, bat down a screen pass & hustle to the ball to make tackles when he was 5-10 yards out of the play at the start. For a rookie in his 2nd pre-season game running vanilla defenses & blitzes, that's a good start... now he can work on technique & the more elaborate blitzes to get to the QB.

I really like what this kid is bringing to the table here. He is a tremendous asset to CC in that both of them can handle a double team and neither of them quits. That has to leave someone open to fill and tackle

I like what I have seen from Golden so far. the defensive Golden anyway,...the WR needs some time on the PS.

The guy who stands out to me as a motor guy is number 45 sumthin-hyphen-sumthin else.... dude flies in completely out of control when he hits...love the motivation and commitment but he is going to hurt somebody...nearly took out one of our corners the other night. He will likely make the team in a backup safety capacity...but they need to get the kid settled and under control

OT: I love gfycat. I like being able to pause, rewind, zoom in and out, and go frame by frame with ease.

Like his motor but he is not a quick twitch athlete. I think he has a chance to become a Lamar Woodley type of player if he gets a little bigger and stronger where he can get underneath the pads and bulrush his way to the QB. He's not going to start this year, but hopefully he will do well in a relief role.

never noticed that, really cool. just noticed the great pull and block by cooper and veldheer doing work down the field thanks to that tip!

Darren Fells does a good job coming around Cooper and continuing to seal off the edge, too.

I complained on another thread about having Peterson and Matheiu out there with the punt team. They must have something pretty cool installed. Neither Badger nor Peterson were intrested in touching anyone on that play, but there are a lot of interesting guys in the open field on the field at once.

Are you thinking razzle--dazzle? Were they in position to get a backward pass? What did you think she you saw it?

Didn't Peterson get caught holding on the first one?

Why oh why would they ever be on the punt return team, if they weren't the return man?

Harold Jones-Quartey is a sticker, man! We need more tacklers like him. Like BA always says, "you'd rather have to say whoa to a player than sic-em."

Nice blocks by Fells & Momah too. The guy Momah was blocking had his hands in Momah's facemask multiple times through that play & still couldn't get separation.

I didn't really think anything. It wouldn't be smart to expose the actual play in the preseason, but it might be smart to make sure that no one raises an eyebrow when a Pro Bowl cornerback and sparkplug safety are out in the coverage unit. Mathieu came up just in front of Nelson, and Peterson looped up maybe 15 more yards downfield. I dunno.

What I did notice was that on one play where Brittan Golden got wrapped up, he definitely looked like he was interested in lateralling it. That seemed really weird.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to find the Cards pulled some trickery in the first three or four games of the season, when OL issues might mean points are at a premium.

Second half baby, that is when the full effort guys trump the quick twitch athletes. I still believe that being a 'football player' is the main attribute before being a freak athlete because this is a football game. Sure being athletic helps but Golden is average at worst and the guy wants to hit the QB with a passion. I want to see him in four quarters. I want to see him in his second year with that same passion blowing past the 'athletes' in the fourth quarter when it counts man ... yes, he can be a Woodley type of player and those guys make championship teams!

I agree with this. Golden has the stamina to wear his man down. Plus, did you see him hustle back to make a tackle downfield when he was originally 7 yards deep into the Chargers' backfield? Talk about playing to the whistle!

Ha! Yeah it has pretty neat features that you can find with other video players, but the ease and speed with which they load is great. Also try zooming in or out by dragging your cursor over the video.

That is great to expand the picture, stop and pause.
