Good to hear. Also there is a good article on DJ Humphries on the Cardinals site. They say he's progressing nicely.

Are you saying that it's possible some fans may have overreacted about our recent draft class because none of them were hall-of-famers after training camp?
I think "QB pressures" are a very misleading stat. It's like your close but not close enough. QB's can evade pressures and still make plays, but TFL & sacks are the real measures for productivity. Those stats mean you made plays to stop an offense. ARZ was able to pressure Big Ben in the SB but no one could bring him down when it counted on the game winning drive, ARZ's lack of a pass rush has really been evident in the first 6 games and have prevented them from being a dominant defense.
Yeah but that is a cardinals Fluff piece and coaches praise. It's nice to hear the coaches turn a corner on him but goldens love is from measurable stats.Good to hear. Also there is a good article on DJ Humphries on the Cardinals site. They say he's progressing nicely.
Pressures also mean making there qb move, duck and dodge. They are not as important as tfl or sacks but it is importantI think "QB pressures" are a very misleading stat. Pressure is a good thing but if you give the option of letting the qb throw the ball under pressure or sack him. I take the sack every time.If you move a qb off his spot that matters sacks are great but making someone make a decision when they aren't expecting it usually just as good as a sack we have failed on the backend of our defense in a scamble situation jmo

Your 1st rd pick should not be a healthy scratch week in and week out: He's progressing: big deal. So he goes from UDFA level production to 6th round pick...what a job.

If not a starter next year it's a bad pick for Round 1 especially when there are other players that we could have took that are playing this year (Kendricks). STL is starting 2 rookies on their OL and although Foles has been sacked 11 times in 6 games, the rookies are not solely to blame. He will either be a backup or starter next year, active every game unless injured. Bank on it.
I expect him to be starter next year but he has to earn it. Yes we could have taken someone else but it is always a crapshoot and with MAssie leaving, this FO is very focused on OL.If not a starter next year it's a bad pick for Round 1 especially when there are other players that we could have took that are playing this year (Kendricks). Point being ARZ had other needs they could have filled at #24 that could have helped them this year.
That's a ridiculous assessment. Would it make you feel better if he was active and still not playing? Or does it make sense to de-activate him and dress a guy who can play special teams and actually help you win a game?
Agree and I think if a major injury occurred DJ would be put in the lineup before Sowell and give him a week of prep time. What I would like/expect is for a first round LT to be able to immediately beat out Bradley Sowell.

However, on game day the coaches are probably more comfortable with Sowell right now because he can play both tackles, knows the system better, and probably would minimize any communication errors, which is what you'd want in an emergency back up situation.

Remember how many years we would never draft top level OL? I am ok with the new style.
A rational analysis and can be understood by anyone. Good job.
Well if you feel that way, what about the CB situation next year? Both Powers and Bethel are UFA's but we didn't address it this year.
I agree OL is very important but the point of a 1st round pick is to take someone that will make an immediate impact or BPA, Humphries was neither.
Who would you rather have right now, Eric Kendricks/Thompson/Kikaha or Humphries?
