A very funny rant, but also ironic. If Marion had the worst season of his career, he wouldn't opt out either because he wouldn't make enough money.

If you want Marion off the team and want to get something in return for him, you have to hope he has a monster season so that we have our choice of sign and trade offers. Basically Marion has to prove he is worth more than his current contract and then viola, we can get a decent player in return.

Guys, I finally took the high road and ignored him. Please stop quoting him. If he isnt going to get perma banned, I took the proper steps to not devolve every thread he posts in.

I truly cant sit here quietly while he spews his bile, but if im going to get flak for cutting him down, me ignoring him is the only way to keep it civil.

So for the sake of the childrens, choose ignore over reply.

Truly can't sit quietly?

You've been the most vocal person against me on every single thread: whether or not that thread happened to be right or wrong among general concensus. Of course u can't sit quietly. U are like that nagging soccer mom on the side who complains her son isn't gettting enough play time.

Glad u ignored me. Something I asked of you for months.

Too bad u can't read this nonsense now, huh?

true.

but i don't want Marion to get that satisfaction at the end of the year with his fake smile saying "i told ya so. i am the best. i am awsome. pay me. blah blah blah"

the guy doesn't wanna be here. the guy is the highest paid. And he is still not a 4th quarter performer. we still don't know what position he plays. he cannot shoot but tries to hang out by the three. he isn't that great inside either. list goes on and on.

to have Marion "succeed" this season makes him right and Suns wrong. I don't want that. I want the Suns - a team - to be right. Not one individual who is angry all the time.

I said it before and I'll say it again: I am a 92% Suns fan. 8% of me hates the Suns because of Marion. He represtents 1 of 13 players, hence the 8% hate. Once Marion is gone, I will be back to 100%.

Please stop with this garbage. It makes no sense at all, you want the Suns to fail because you don't like 1 player? Thats ridiculous. If someone is on the Suns, I want them to have a career year, every year, want to know why? Because I'm a Suns fan.

Do you ever wonder why so many people are annoyed by your posts and you've (admittedly) be banned by other boards? Maybe you should reflect on that and your terrible posts.

To think that Marion will have a break out contract season and show substantial improvement with his already impressive stats is stretching it quite a bit. (if so, it is a win win btw)

How can he do much more in the box score? I could see a slight improvement on his shooting %s, but I more likely, we will see another yr of Mr Doubledouble...he just needs to work on his attitude towards the guy who pays him 1.3 mill per freekin month....and keep his yap shut and stay healthy.

I truly think GHills presence and positive influence will help him. And I would not be surprised if Hill has relayed his Marion fondness and neccessity to the Kerr and Sarver show.

I want Marion to have the BEST season in his life this season, because it will most likely results with the Suns going all the way.
The guy performs.... night in and night out.... disappears in the fourth?.... when?... when did the Suns EVER go to him at the 4th quarter and told him to carry them?

NEVER.

The Suns rely on Nash come 4th quarter to carry them over... and I'm pretty sure Marion if you sit him out the whole 4th quarter, the Suns will lose 80% of the time.. you dont sit his type of player and capabilities in both ends at crunch time... Sunsman44, I seriously do not see what ever you are seeing with Marion... And most people also don't... he has been a Sun for 8+ seasons and have been instrumental to the success.. is not the cancer as most people say he is... he does have issue but has not caused any trouble in the back.. comes in night in and night out plays hard.... he isnt happy but he has not affected his team mates... his unhappiness is directed to the management and not the system...

and Marion disappearing in the 4th?... how about those key hustle plays that literally helped the Suns win those HUGE classic games last season... and Im sure there several more he has done.... so please validate your claims of Marion disappearing.... a player who disappears in my book anyways, is the player who shoots his team out of a win come crunch time... someone who literally cause negative impact around that time... and Marion is in no way near it.

Who said Suns need Marion for a championship.

I'll say it. The Suns need Marion for a championship. A frontline of Boris/Nash/Stoudemire is not going to win us a championship.

Agreed. How someone can disregard a player of Marion's caliber is beyond me.

indeed, beyond me too. sometimes all marion does for us is underestimated. in almost every scenario he is guarding the other teams best player or 2nd best player. there really is nobody out there quite like him

For all the time I spend ragging on Marion's shooting, I think it is essential to remember he is a career 83% free throw shooter (81% last season). He is also one of the best at converting offensive rebounds for points. That's stuff that is not easily replaced.

you know what? my only real beef with marion's actual game is poor shot selection due to obviously poor shooting percentages in certain places on the court.

if his %'s go up this year, i really can't find any fault with him.

the only other things wrong with him are not really controllable:
-he has to guard bigger guys: that's dantoni's problem
-spurs are his kryptonite: everyone has a matchup nightmare
-can't create his own shot: actually a positive on this team

contrary to belief, he DOES show up for the playoffs, and puts up great numbers against everyone except the spurs.

if shawn shoots 37% or higher from 3 this year while maintaining everything else, he's worth the paycheck.

Actually Marion played well against the Spurs. His PPG was down a couple of points (overall the team was down about 10 ppg from the regular season), but he shot well and rebounded well. The challenge for Marion is that scores so much on the break and the Spurs do so much holding and grabbing, it is hard to run against them.

Great.. 'antoni (no D) is driving marion from doing the one thing he does better than anyone else in the league.. bottom-feeding off missed shots, and moving him farther and farther away from where he can get spoon-fed by Steve..

God, i want this guy gone.

marion was never the amare-type. you know, the guy with an insane desire to improve. however, this is a cotnract year for him and could shift his career drastically so maybe he has sharpened his shot up a bit. i certainly would not complain about that. our offense is already very high-powered, and him draining 3's would be amazing for our game

True. If the suns go far with his threes and he becomes an all around player, (meaning post, short js, the three and his defense) he could improve his asking price by a lot. Also, this would spread out the floor even more.

Which is why the trophy has not been ours with Marion as perimeter Power Forward. Or with Diaw covering Center.

Finding stats that show that Marion played well hasn't brought us a Championship.

Oh, the frustration of it. We're so close.

Like arwillian said, 30/15 would win the championship.
