And Donald, my comment was ment as an insult for Marion. Lamar Odom has always been one of my favorite players. Lakers would be insane to give up Odom for Marion.

And besides, if he is so much better than Lamar why are the suns offering him for Lamar?

Your assuming that report is even true. We are talking about the same people who have been reporting that the deal for KG was practically done. Not to mention that Kerr, Sarver and D'Antoni have now stated that they are going to make another run for the Big 3. I doubt the Suns EVER made that offer.

And I think Lamar is a far better basketball player than Marion. Passing, shooting (especially midrange), dribbling, creating for himself and others all go to Lamar. Marion gets a small edge in rebounding and is a better defender (though overhyped).

Lamar might be if he showed up all the time. If we did make that trade then the head to head match up is a moot point. Oh except for when they played each other, Lamar would dominate Marion and then disappear against the rest of the league for about a month. :D

Odom dissapears because he has Kobe on his team. I've seen Odom play at a very high level. The guy can play and if he has someone who will actually pass him the ball I have no doubt that the guy can be very productive. The thing I like about him is that he has a post game which is sorely needed on this team.

Marion brings excitement no doubt but he doesn't take over very much in a game. You can argue that he dissapears as well. We know better since we watch the team more closely and know that he doesn't have to score 25 points to be productive. The same could be said about Odom. Only Odom I believe posseses more complete game than Marion. I think Odom would be a great addition. I don't know how all the running he'd be doing here would affect him when it came to injuries.

I don't see how this is anything more than a bad rumor.

This trade doesn't help either team at all, and we all know how often teams trade starters within their division.

Completely untrue. Odom has the ball in his hands quite often in the triangle. The problem is, he makes mental errors or is too passive too often.

But Kobe has no effect on whether Lamar shows up or not...only Lamar does.

This is quite true, and as DCR said the trade makes no sense for either team.

I hear ya. I really like Lamar and just wish he were more consistent.

To me that door swings both ways.

A. Why would LA give up the only other playmaker on their team for one that can't create much of anything for himself?

B. Why would the Suns take the risk of trading one of the more durable players in recent years to one who seem to have a different injury every year, and coming off shoulder surgery?

Doesn't really make sense to me either way.

exactly what is untrue? that he has a post game? He's got one. That Kobe doesn't take shots away from him? or that he like the rest of the team is afraid that Kobe is going to go off on him for taking his shots? that he has a more rounded game than Marion? I'm not sure what is completely untrue?

odom would play a different game here. the players on the Suns are successfull because they are not asked to take over a game themselves. Instead they just wait for Nash to giftwrap them the ball while they sprint downcourt or shoot a wide open three. That pretty much sums up Suns basketball. On top of that Odom can play a half court game which the suns need. (In my opinion that is pretty much all that is stoping them from winning a few championships) when was the last time you saw Marions game consist more than running down the court and catching a lob or shooting a 3? really.

There is a reason why they don't run many plays Marions way. Same reason he's always involved in trade discussions.

Now I will say that Odom does get injured a lot. That is probably why this deal is improbable.

Kwame Brown for Marion and he thought he was close to making something happen?
Marion for Kwame?

Kwame Brown?

Of all the rumors I've heard this offseason, this one takes the cake...

Thanks...I'll be here all week.

When I think of Odom I think of Danny Manning. Why is that?
