Mark Grace - New Assistant Hitting Coach of the Diamondbacks

That came out of no where. I know he was doing the same up here in Portland for the Hops (D-Back Rookie Team). He guy can hit, so it will be interesting.

Talk about getting endless chances to succeed! Hopefully he can stay out of trouble because I think he would be a great hitting coach for this team

Apparently that's false. The news now is that Ward is still the hitting coach and Grace is the "assistant" hitting coach....whatever that means.

Whatever capacity he is in, congrats to Gracie. He's a quality guy and we need more of those guys in the clubhouse

Yep. Saw that too. The Dbacks apparently really want him as part of their organization.

I hope for his own sake, and that of the team, someone will mentor and monitor him constantly.

That is my opinion.

He spent the season up here in Portland with the Hillboro Hops and both players and the coaching staff raved about him. He was the teams only Hitting Coach too and they hit really well. Maybe he needs to be on the field everyday to stay on the straight and narrow.
