Upton has his own thread, but I think Reynolds deserves one as well. Reynolds has been on a complete tear recently. Yes, he strikes out a lot, but he has fantastic gap power and is a surprisingly solid fielder. I kept reading and hearing reports that Reynolds was awful in the field. He has been nothing but spectacular so far.
Let's look at his numbers:
.287, 9HR, 41 RBI in just 238 at bats.
That's 237 less at bats than Byrnes - for example. (Byrnes has exactly double the amount of AB's.) I know that this is not really accurate at all, but If you were to multiply Reynolds's numbers by 2, He'd be hitting:
.287, 18HR, 82RBI in the same amount of AB's as Bynes. Again, I know that the projected numbers are basically pointless - but it's interesting to look at.
Reynolds basically came out of nowhere. He was a decently rated prospect but I don't think anyone expected him to contribute as much as he has. Here's to 10 more years of Upton, Reynolds, and Young. (The untouchables IMO.) Tracy may have just lost his job.
