Chriss said he's put on close to 20 pounds, now weighing around 250 and Bender is said to be up to about 240. Both have hit the weight room and bulked up. THat's a good thing for both as they were slim for their size. Bender needed to add more weight more but if he's going to be our "Point Forward" perhaps he won't need that much more bulk.

If Bender can add more weight I can even see him playing a high post center role with his PG skills.

Boris Diaw kind of player. That could be very useful. Bender is the type of player popovich would love to have and develop.

I think you are very close on this assessment. Rather than drastically change Bender the Suns need to utilize his skills.

I think you are right. Diaw was never flashy, but made his team better. When Amare went down with that injury Diaw filled the gap admirably but in his own way.

I would love to see a Suns offense running through Bender at the high post. He is a great passer and it would be much more interesting than Bledsoe pounding the ball out front trying to get some iteration of the pick and roll to work.

They could at least run it some of the time.

Certainly I think the Suns should revisit the high post center option with Bender to see if it works. Also I think Bender shoots better from this position so it has another advantage.

I wonder what type of magic Popovich could do with this young group the Suns have...hmmm

He's looking too heavy now in summer league. Lost a bit of explosiveness and agility so he should be closer to 240 I think.
