NEW YORK - The work is done for the Marquette men's basketball team.
The Golden Eagles now await what the NCAA tournament selection committee thinks about MU's profile.
MU fell to St. John's in the Big East tournament semifinals on Friday night at Madison Square Garden and head into Selection Sunday at 23-10.
Here is a look at where MU is likely to land in the bracket:
A loss to the Red Storm, one of the best teams in the country at No. 6 in the Associated Press poll, on what is essentially its home floor won't hurt the Golden Eagles too much.
MU could be seen as on the edge of an 8 seed, but the Golden Eagles' solid non-conference performance is carrying their profile and their win over Xavier in the Big East quarterfinals could be what lands MU as a 7 seed.
