So, now three teammates, one Buffalo Bills security guy and a Bills front office mucky-muck are being dragged in front of a grand jury.

This is blossoming into a concerted cover-up. Goodell has another PR mess on his hands.

It's strange to me Skkorp how some players get the royal treatment and others are casted out. I'm not saying Lynch is the golden child by no means but for instance the Merriman case.

Shawn Merriman was caught using steriods and he got a slap in the wrist, David Boston gets busted and he's the Pariah. Go figure.

Whats the big deal? I mean, it wasn't like he got caught on camera doing beer bongs in his house. :)

black, although the transgressions are not similar, your point about unequal treatment has some validity but Goodell seems to be getting that fixed.

The deciding factor is performance.

IF Merriman had a horrid year it'd be easier for the press to criticize him openly, as it stands the steroids issues falls under that category of "yeah but..."

Boston's bad years outweigh his good.

Skkorp and super,

I realize I was comparing apples to oranges. But it remains true how some in this thread want Lynch to be innocent without trial. For obvious reasons. That was my point.

Other than Eddie Sutton being drunk and Mike Gandy going nuts, i don't think Okie State is that bad a school when it comes to lawbreakers :p.

I think he was referring to the Corvallis Oregon Beavers. Maybe even Ogelthorpe State University.

Seems Marshawn Lynch has struck a deal to plead guilty. Shocko. Dismayo.

Sure hope he learns from all this since it's apparent he was driving afterall.

Just don't see why it took this long and why a lawyer would advise him to not cooperate but I guess he's going to have to pay for the crime now.

I fully expect a 4 game suspension by Goodell.

As you probably know, the Bills have an agreement to play both exhibition and regular season games over the next 5 years in Toronto. If his conviction falls under the Canadian Criminal Code as a charge punishable by time in prison, he will not be allowed into the country without a special permit from our Federal Minister of Immigration.

(Not that it matters regarding the above, but the girl he hit was Canadian)

Skkorp and super,

Well to be honest was anybody even remotely surprised that Merriman failed a drug test for steroids? I mean right after the draft there were people saying that guy's a freak of nature he's got to be on something. So when he tested positive and then blamed the supplement but refused to pursue it(because he knew he was lying and if he pursued it the supplement manufacturer would sue him for libel), it was pretty understandable that Merriman got some heat over it.

In this case when it first happened I said I hope it's not true because I'm a big fan of Marshawn. Once it became clear he wasnt' cooperating, I said he needs to do the right thing, that's what the Buffalo media was saying too. I think a lot of people are surprised over this Lynch didn't get in trouble in HS or college the one incident was with the ex girlfriend and the DA in that case all but said she lied trying to extort money from him, the DA, a woman, openly said she would not make a credible witness her story keeps changing too much.

So this is a situation where a kid did something completely out of character as opposed to the Merriman situation where he basically got caught doing something everyone assumed he'd done anyways. Very similar to OJ Mayo and getting paid while in HS, that was so widely rumored for so long that virtually everyone just assumes the ESPN story is true. If that had been another kid with no history of such rumors, people might question it.

I'd love for that chick not hot have gotten hit by a car.
As for the innocent or guilty? Up to the judge and jury.
No matter what, they'll ham it up.
It's a wonder we can get anything done correctly as a species.

Leonard Little killed someone and didn't go to jail...

Outside of a suspension and financial penalties, community service, etc. I suspect Lynch will face little punishment.

$100 fine, license taken away, what will be an undisclosed out of court settlement to the women. Hope she asks for a lot.

Who wants to put money down that he gets put in jail for being caught driving without a license within the year.

I would put $20 on it.
