Perhaps I'm being too critical but it scares me that at this point he still has to develop ways to becoming mentally tough. I hope it all translates to NFL success. But as I said earlier, part of my concern is that throwing punches is not something I would want my QB or pitcher or point guard doing in the offseason.

Marcus Allen doing karate and breaking a finger wouldn't particularly effect how he was able to run the ball. Matt Leinart breaking a finger on his throwing hand would be a bit different.

Maybe you should add that you wouldn't want your nose tackle to get on a treadmill either.....or your franchise QB to ride a motorcycle or go kayaking....stuff happens, these guys don't live in a bubble.

Well, if Leinart had pulled a Roethlisberger or Winslow Jr. then I would certainly be critical of his decision making. "Things happen" and tempting fate are two different animals though. The nose tackle that had an accident on a treadmill is "things happen". Riding a motorcycle without a helmet or doing nose wheelies is risk taking.

I wasn't pointing to you specifically, it was more of a genral statement. It just seems like "generally speaking" there are people who slam him for everything he does. I didn't mean for you to take that as a dig to you.

MMA is nothing more than a gimmick essentially, its a way of geeting customers into a dojo. Its usually a combination of kick boxing, Brazilian ju-jitsu [of Gracie fame], karate and judo but is always based on the 'base' style of the dojo in question.

There is zero way ML will be doing Brazilian ju-jitsu, it is a recipe for broken knees. Seen it many, many times. The other side is the kick boxing which is fundamentally just slugging each other as the really bad stuff from karate you can't do in a ring.

As I said in the other thread, that video is pure PR, I put white belts through tougher sessions
