Matt Leinart has had a great pre-season and should be the starting QB!

This is a no-brainer. Matt Leinart has to be the starting QB of the Arizona Cardinals. I'm stunned that there is even a debate.

Matt Leinart 19/23 161 yds. 1 TD 0 Ints QB Rating: 110.3

D.Anderson 31/53 287 yds 1 TD 2 Ints QB Rating: 70.2

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, this is great. Just start cut/pasting the same response you've made a hundred times today in the million new Leinart threads.

Serioulsy though, every time I go to the Cardinals forum, there's two new Leinart threads. It's becoming a virus

you couldn't have posted this in the many Leinart threads?

Hey look...it's a thread about Leinart and the QB situation. I was hoping somebody would create one to discuss this topic. Should we go with Matt or DA? Wow...tough choice. Wonder what Whiz thinks....

I am starting to think Matt is checking down so much so that he pads his stats. I bet he thought if his stat line was good (and it is), then he couldn't lose the job.

Unfortuantely for him, Whiz is on to his game. Maybe he sees Matt checking-down too early, taking the easy out instead of pushing the ball down field. Maybe Matt isn't aware that his receivers line up wrong. Maybe Matt doesn't act like his mishaps are bothersome. Maybe he acts like he could care less if he lost the job (until today at least).

Whatever the reason, Whiz says stats won't be the only (or main) factor in determining the starter. Stats can be manipulated. Whiz wants to see the things that can't be faked.

You guys still realize who your owners are right? There's NO WAY they are paying for that 7 million bonus that Leinart would be receiving. Anderson is the right choice here from the coaches' and FO's standpoint--he has a bigger arm, he's more confident, no off the field issues, he has the locker room, and he's ALOT CHEAPER.

As Niner a fan, I'd be more worried if Anderson was the starter instead of Leinart.

This isn't Bill Bidwills Cardinals anymore. This FO will pay $7M for Leinart to go away if that's what Whis thinks is best. Without a doubt.

Well, Leinart is due about $13 million if he plays--Anderson will make about 3 or 4 million, the choice is clear.

The decision has nothing to do with money and everything to do with Leinart's immaturity.

Actually 49erfan, if anderson starts a lot of games this year, he's due about $12 million himself, IIRC.

"3/17/2010: Signed a two-year, $7.25 million contract. The deal includes $3.25 million guaranteed. Another $11 million is available through incentives. 2010: $650,000 (+ $2.7 million in bonuses), 2011: $3.9 million, 2012: Free Agent"

Not sure about that.

Do you not see where it says $11 million in possible incentives?

What don't you understand regarding the fact that the Cards will pay Leinart to go away? They will do it in a heartbeat if that's what's best for the team.
