They had him on live from Miami this AM. quick notes:

1. Starks is the son of Ross Browner....Ross and his two brothers Joey and Keith all played in the NFL....Starks did not find out that Ross was his father until high school..I guess his mother remarried when he was very young and he was adopted by his stepfather...

2. Starks loves Russ Grimm.
3. Jurecki and Bickley were basically saying how he was a restricted free agent and they were big time telling him that he needed to play for the Cardinals...that is when Starks went into how much he really likes Whisenhut and Grimm..and he seemed to imply that AZ may be a good fit for him....but he is a restricted free agent. Jurecki and Bickley kept pounding on the fact that the Cardinals need to give him an offer (after he is tendered by Pittsburgh) that is a big time contract and the Steelers will not match.
4. Oliver Ross: Starks acted like they were very good friends. He said he backed up Ross when they both played for the Steelers. Starks said that Ross was calling him mocking him a little...telling him how he got to work with Grimm and Whisenhut..while Starks did not. Starks said he (ross) will be significantly improved next year...mentioned injuries had hurt him the past couple of seasons.

Starks was very well spoken and said alot of positives about the Cardinals....

Just an FYI on what I heard...

High tender = 1st rd and 3rd rd pick

Mid Tender= 1st rd pick

Low Tender = draft pick of round player was originally drafted in.

Personally, I can't see giving up a first and a third for him. I thought he wasn't as good this year. A first, maybe, but only because the coaches know him so well.

So we would have to give up the 5th pick in the draft? No way that's happening.

The idea of giving up compensation for Starks, who while he is good isn't great, doesn't excite me. Call me silly I'd rather keep Wells at RT and re-sign Davis and keep our first round pick.

Eh I don't see Wells sitting out after he got the contract from last year but its really a toss up between who's going to sit between Wells and Brown

Well considering Brown ended the season as our best OL I'd have to believe he gets the nod.

I worked out with him and Ross Verba 2 summers ago over at API in Tempe. They were both in trying to get into shape before camp started. Max is a great guy, I wouldn't ask for a better teamate. Verba, on the other hand, was a clown.

I believe we'd have to give up our 5th pick which is too much but Starks is a very good RT and a great locker room type guy

any line that has Wells starting at LT could easly turn into a nightmare. The dream line would be:

LT-Thomas
LG-Davis
C-Steinbach
RG-Luitui
RT-Starks
backups-Brown ,Leckey, Ross,Wells

but i wouldn't give up a number 1 pick for Starks.I would consider a 2nd rounder for him though.

They also mentioned he owned a house in Mesa....a few times...during the interview.

I doubt they were thinking clearly in that giving up the #5 pick in the draft...would be way too high of a price....

I doubt they will give him a low tender......
