Maybe it's time to show a little humility.

I'm not talking about being Cards fans excited about a new era of Cardinal football. What I'm really getting at is all of the Rackers sackers. He's missed 2 FG attempts all season and made 4 against Seattle. He was vital to winning that game. Of course all i really expect back is "He's going to blow it for us just when we need it, what and see". It goes hand in hand with all of the naysayers that have dissed our players every chance they got. It goes for all of the apologists that say we have to win it all in order to be respected. This team has taken huge steps and should be respected for every one of them. We are no longer a doormat and I want people that have being tearing us down, even in victory, to acknowledge this teams progress. Let's start with all of the Rackers sackers as his production is symbolic of the team. For those of you who will still say that we have to basically win it all to garner respect from the media, ask yourself why Miami gets instant respect with less wins and having lost to the Cards handily.

Two words: Bill Parcells.

The Tuna is running that ship and we have a couple of Bidwills and a Rod Graves. Parcells has already earned his respect, and our guys have earned nothing but ridicule.

JMHO (and I'm totally cool with it)

Having a reliable kicker changes EVERYTHING...

I know he's played the role of villain many times BUT... He has done his job this year. He's in the zone! ...And we'll need him in the games ahead. GO CARDS!

I'm fine with giving Parcells respect but the Cards have been equally deserving of respect for what they've accomplished since Whiz and Grimm have taken the helm of the Cards. If you want to dog the franchise because it is still owned by the Bidwills, doesn't it make it even that much more impressive how this team has turned around.

Pariah, yor name suits you. You are a scourge to all Cardinal fans.

I've noticed the most of Rackers FG kicks are going right down the middle now. The 54 yarder went towards the right some, but when he was off (last year) Rackers was mostly missing left.

To add:

The Cards entered this season with far greater expectations than the Dolphins... The Fins were predicted to be among the worst teams in the NFL, and they are far from it...

maybe it's because Miami was one of the WORST TEAMS OF ALL TIME last year and no one expected anything from them as opposed to us, who was the up and coming team and we've continued to up and come, although the last couple weeks, it hasn't been pretty.

as far as the "Rackers Sackers", when he makes FG consistently to win I'll say he's crossed that bridge he burned down with us in the past. Until then, I'll just say I'm stoked he's doing what he's doing and my confidence is growing in him.

Nothing says humility like labeling another fan with a really nasty insult. good lord.

Okay... time to lay off Rackers and start bashing Johnson... I NEVER expected to get to the point that I want the Cards to go pick up Scott Player.. he CAN NOT be worse and he won't affect the "holder issue" with Rackers... Johnson SUCKS!

I understand this is a "what have you done for me lately" world in which we live, but from a historical perspective the Cardinals deserve no credit for one good year. Especially when the year isn't even over.

The space between playoff games, if the team makes it (never assume it's over until you hear the gun go off) has been 10 years.

Respect to the FO and coaches for everything that's happened this year, but if the team goes 4-12 next year then this year's success won't mean as much as it does right now.

My point is, true respect comes from continued, sustained, success. The Cardinals don't have that because they haven't got it. Yet.
But they are pointed in the right direction.

And I'm with Cheese on the Pariah shot. No real reason for it.

Yes, unfortunately for the Cardinals and it's fans, nothing short of a Super Bowl win will erase some...yes, only some, of the history of the Cardinals. A playoff berth and even a win will only draw comparisons to '98 and that team was led by a very dubious QB in terms of national perception. I suggest not wasting any time on these thoughts this year because they will have to repeat next year to really get a swing in perception.

It's cool. He doesn't need to apologize, IMO.

I am fine with apologizing as well. It was more a matter of all of the bashing of certain players on this team by posters followed by the lack of respect around the league and seeing a fan defend such a lack of respect. This team is entitled to it. They actually had alot more to overcome with one of the longest runs at futility in all of sports. Anyone saying that Miami desrves it because they went 1-15 last season is wrong. Anyone that says Parcells deserves it more than Whisenhunt for changing the culture is wrong.

So Pariah, while I actually don't think you are a scourge, I do think you are wrong in the way you defend the critics as well as anyone else that does. I am very sensitive to seeing the Cards disrespected after waiting so long to get where we are with this team, maybe overly so. As I said before I have no question that you are a sincere fan of the team.

Nidan, if you feel I should be banned, feel free. My passion runs for the Cards and I meant nothing personal towards Pariah. I think he knows that.

what's with apologizing? I dig the Pariah man, but, did anything really get personally insulting?Hell, I've been handed alot worse over time than that.
Point shark is making, is, give a ratz azz who runs the ship, our team is still getting dissed and by some of it's own fans. Is that deniable? NO! So, pony up naysayers, darksiders, whomever."Rack 'em Up" has been as money as Warner, but, we're cutting him slack after just about losing the Seattle game by himself! AND, I'm still in his corner.
The point is, i think, you can diss any one of the players, any given day, but collectively, WHAT A SEASON FOR ALL OF THEM!

I have to take exception to this. Where is all this naysaying? Who is tearing the team down? Who says we have to win it all to be respected? Everywhere I go in Arizona people are high on the Cardinals. Nobody on this board comes within light years of the bashing the team used to get for blowing game after game under Denny Green or just being totally horrible under McGinnis. All my friends here in Austin are congratulating me on how well the team is doing.

The only goofy stuff I've seen are the people who seem to think that any discussion of the Cards weaknesses is a mortal sin and should result in banishment as a Cardinal fan forever.

The post was reported twice. I didn't see the need to ban but people should know that mods do respond when it is reported. Velvet Glove :number1:

Thought this was JefftheShark and was wondering what happened to his funny posts!

First the Cards winning and now JefftheShark not being funny...I can't take it!
