Nene not playing tonight. Tight harmstring????
I think they are going to trade him for a S.G. That Denver team is pretty deep and they could some damage this year but not with playing Boykins and Miller together. Boykins is too small to play major minutes and he gives them that punch off of the bench. I would not give them JJ straight up (after what he did last night) nor would I give them Q and Jacobsen for him. We would lose good shooting and teams will not play that zone against us (which killed us last year). Speculation...?

I've liked Nene since before he was drafted, but I wouldn't want to give up any core players for him. I really like our team and I think we need to have great depth to be successful with the style of basketball we're trying to play. Nene could possibly be the starting center we're looking for, but somehow he's gotten the reputation of being lazy and not learning plays. Also, I doubt the Nuggets would be willing to part with him for what I'm willing to offer (CJ, Hunter, Zarko, a Suns future 1st rd pick (not the one we get from the Bulls).

In my opinion, the Suns would be fools not to go for a Jacobsen/Nene trade, in the very unlikely event that the Nuggets would agree to it. They shouldn't hesitate to include the Chicago pick as well.

Nene has been a disappointment so far, but he's still only 22 years old and clearly a better big man prospect than the Suns will get any other way. Parting with a third-string, under-athletic shooting guard and a pick that will be #5 at the highest is a no-brainer.

It won't happen, but that's because Denver won't do it. If they want to give up on Nene, they'll get a better offer.

Well I am going to watch Suns/Hawks again right now (most likely) and I will be up late - I will post if I see any trade rumors (although I'd think Joe Johnson would be player not Casey Jacobsen)... I don't think I'd trade JJ for Nene straight up and IMO I'd rather have JJ but the Suns don't exactly listen to everything I post on this messageboard

That's why I will no longer bash Peja, don't want to jinx Peja coming to Suns for JJ and Marion :D He's not that bad but IMO JJ and Marion are studs, Brad Miller would be acceptable with Peja possibly but IMO Miller, Richardson, Peja, and Nash aren't exactly strong defenders - I'd rather have Miller than Doug Christie though ;) Actually without looking at Kings' roster - wouldn't the Suns have-to throw in a F/C or something? Kings have no depth at the big spots... I doubt any trade there happens.

I don't think that Suns want to trade for Peja anymore(or if they ever wanted) simply because Marion is more suited for this style of play, and obviously (bringing in Nash) they are commited to it. Nash and also Q can open up the inside game for Amare and Marion is one of the best, if not the best, fast break guys in the NBA. He is going to benefit greatly because Nash will give him ball when he is close to the basket and he can jump and put it in. He won't have to put the ball on the floor(biggest weakness) as much this season. Peja is a luxury. I think this team is better off without him (even though I would love to see my countryman Stojakovich in the Suns uniform).

Sporting News reported talk of a Nene/Jiri Welch deal. FWIW.

If Nene is on the block--and I seriously doubt he's actively being shopped--the Nuggets could get far more than Casey Jacobsen and Zarko for him.

LOL, Jiri Welsch. What is the fascination with this guy? I'd rather have Jacobsen.

thanks to the suns getting rid of eisley we could do a nene for casey and the chicago pick and it would work under the salery cap.

i think this trade would be a great help for both teams (i hate helping out denver but...). denver needs a shooting guard that is a good outside shooter, the suns need a center who can rebound and play defense. lets face facts here getting a big man in the draft (even the lottery) is hit and miss with a lot more misses. denver doesnt have a great teaching coaching staff, the suns do. i think the nene would really shine here and casey would do well in denver is melo would pass the ball.

he would be making a mistake also. Welsch is a better player than CJ. He is quite a bit better.

Still, I don't see the Nuggets trading Nene. Their frontcourt depth is not that good. Marcus Camby was healthy all last season, but he is still an injury waiting to happen.

Remember that Barbosa and Nene are tight and played together in Brazil. With our coaching staff and their Brazilian bond, Nene could really blossom here. The Chicago pick could eventually become a stud center, but how long will that take? By getting Nene now, we can compete for the championship as soon as next year. Give the Nuggets any of our back-up F/C if they are concerned with depth, just get er done.

Nene for CJake and the Suns 1st would not be bad. We could throw a 2nd in there. We would probably have to give up another big man. Jake would be ideal. The Suns pick would have to be conditional (on it not being low enought for San Antonio to get it).

Play Nene and Amare at the 4-5. Who really cares which is the center and which is the pf.
