Again, I am okay with Lamar at #15 but if he somehow is gone, Joshua Jackson is my second choice. Take Lauletta in Round 2.

I just don`t see how Mayfield can be the #1 pick.As several ex-QBs said -your franchise QB has to check all the boxes.Mayfield does not .He is borderline short. If he goes #1 then the Browns are gambling that he becomes the next Drew Brees .Those seem like long odds. Can he overcome his height issue and transfer his game to the NFL? I have some doubts.Just seems like a very risky gamble to take when Darnold is available.

I am praying the Browns take Mayfield. That means the Cardinals have a shot at Darnold and Rosen if they decide to move up. Those are the only two QBs that are worth taking a chance on early in the 1st round IMO.

Otherwise I hope they stay at 15 and take WR Calvin Ridley, a LB, or a CB. Whoever they have ranked the highest on their board.

well if it goes down that way then the first three picks will be

Mayfield
Darnold
Rosen

I hope that is not accurate.

NFL is half marketing/$$$ and half performance. Mayield is Box Office magic. He will sell tickets. I know the Brown fanbase is loyal ( to a fault ), but he could inject a ray of hope to that disaster franchise.

I'm hearing that it's Mayfield. Also that there's a pro-Rosen buzz in the Jets war room.

I also note that NFLN/FOX has mini-studio'd the Cardinal war room. (Even in the best of years, they don't usually do that). This suggests that the Cards know they're going to make news and have tipped off NFLN. I'm guessing an intermediate-level move up - maybe to #10 or #12 in order to secure Rosen, Allen or possibly Jackson. I'm guessing the decision to move would take place during the draft if the right group of guys were available at #10 or #12.

Because of his brashness, Mayfield is going to suffer from sustained comparisons to Manziel by going to CLE.

Baker, so far...is the only QB to express a solid interest in actually going to cleveland.

Lot of effort (mini-studio) on a small jump for a team which doesn’t warrant national tv exposure?

If we traded up to get Jackson it would bring me back to the George Boone days.

That's the news this morning. The Browns are selecting Baker Mayfield #1 overall. Not really a reach, bc the Jets would have taken him @ 3. They were apparently choosing between him and Josh Allen all along. This opens the door for them to select Saquan at @4. Four out of 1st five picks look to be QB's. Only question is does Buffalo trade up to #5 with Denver. We'd have to give up a boat load to get there.

I find it hard to believe that the Browns would chance repeating the Manzel debacle. I will stick with the projection as being Darnold the #1 pick.

Ross Tucker (@RossTuckerNFL) tweeted at 1:36 PM on Thu, Apr 26, 2018:
For those of you that put a lot of stock into prospect age:
Baker Mayfield is 23
Sam Darnold is 20

Mayfield at best will be a Keenum with off field problems.

Good luck picking him #1
